Nairobi to Maasai Mara National Reserve

Depart Nairobi early in the morning and drive towards the Maasai Mara, enjoying scenic views of the Great Rift Valley along the way. Arrive at your selected lodge or camp around lunchtime, check in, and enjoy lunch.

In the afternoon, head out for your first game drive across the Mara’s vast savannah plains. Search for elephants, giraffes, zebras, lions, and other wildlife before returning to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

Full-Day Game Drive in Maasai Mara

After an early breakfast, depart for a full-day game drive to explore different sections of the reserve. With a packed lunch, spend the day searching for the Big Five and observing wildlife in its natural habitat.

Your guide will help you track animals and identify the different species encountered along the way. Depending on the season and location, you may explore areas associated with the Great Migration and enjoy excellent opportunities for wildlife photography before returning to camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Morning and Afternoon Game Drives

Begin the day with an early morning game drive, when predators are often active and the soft morning light creates beautiful photography opportunities. Look out for lions, cheetahs, hyenas, elephants, and other wildlife.

Return to your accommodation for breakfast and relaxation, followed by lunch. In the afternoon, head out for another game drive to explore more of the reserve and search for wildlife you may not have seen earlier. Return to your lodge or camp for dinner and your third overnight stay.

Optional activity: Hot-air balloon safari, usually arranged for an additional fee and subject to availability.
