The game drive usually begins around 6:30 AM and lasts approximately three to four hours, when cooler temperatures and soft morning light create excellent conditions for wildlife viewing and photography. As you explore the open plains, your guide will explain animal behavior, the park’s ecosystem, and the importance of wildlife conservation. Every turn offers a new opportunity for discovery.

After the game drive, return to your lodge for some relaxation before lunch. In the afternoon, You'll be driven to the famous Kazinga Channel for a boat cruise which connects Lake George and Lake Edward. While on the boat, watch hippos in the water, crocodiles along the banks, buffaloes near the shoreline, and numerous waterbirds. Accompanied by ranger guides and porters (booked at an extra cost), you will begin the trek through mist-covered hills and forest trails while observing the forest's rich biodiversity.

The trek may take several hours depending on the gorillas’ location and the terrain. Once you find them, you will have a strictly regulated viewing period, normally one hour, to observe these remarkable primates feeding, grooming, resting, and interacting in their natural habitat.

After the trek, return to the starting point and meet your guide and begin another interesting journey to Lake Bunyonyi, characterized by terraced hills, green valleys, and rural communities.

Morning nature walk and transfer to Kampala

After an early breakfast, you will be driven to the park offices and pick an armed ranger guide who will take you through the morning nature walk. Imagine walking side by side with zebras, giraffes, and other non-aggressive wildlife as they enjoy their domain. The fact that Lake Mburo National Park doesn't have lions and elephants and due to its open plains, makes walking safaris safe.

After the nature walk, we will return to the lodge, pick up our luggage and begin the journey back to Kampala and Entebbe with a stop at the Equator for lunch, photographs, souvenir shopping, and refreshments.
