Flying From Zanzibar to Nyerere for an exciting game drive and unforgettable wildlife encounters

Your safari begins with a hotel pickup by our professional driver, who will transfer you to Zanzibar International Airport for your flight to Mtemere Airstrip in Nyerere National Park. Upon arrival, you will meet your safari guide and start an exciting full-day game drive.

Explore the vast wilderness of Nyerere National Park, formerly Selous Game Reserve, renowned for its diverse wildlife and stunning landscapes. During the game drive, look out for elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, hippos, crocodiles and many other fascinating species in their natural habitat.

At midday, enjoy a packed lunch in the bush and take some time to relax before continuing your wildlife adventure. In the late afternoon, drive to your lodge or camp for dinner, relaxation and an overnight stay, surrounded by the beauty of the African wilderness.

Game Drive, Boat Safari & Sunset Experience

After an early breakfast, depart for a full-day game drive across the diverse landscapes of Nyerere National Park. Explore open plains, woodlands, lakes, and riverbanks while searching for lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, hippos, crocodiles, African wild dogs, and a variety of bird species. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park before continuing your wildlife adventure into the afternoon.

Around 4:00 PM, leave the park and head to the Rufiji River for an unforgettable sunset boat safari. Cruise along the scenic river, observing hippos, crocodiles, and beautiful birdlife while enjoying the peaceful atmosphere and spectacular African sunset. After this memorable experience, return to your lodge for dinner, relaxation, and an overnight stay.

Experience Maasai Culture, then fly back to Zanzibar

After breakfast at the lodge, you will be picked up and transferred to a nearby Maasai village for an authentic cultural experience. Discover the rich Maasai heritage as you learn about their traditions, customs, traditional clothing, dances, and daily lifestyle. Enjoy interacting with the local community and gaining insight into their unique way of life.

Following the cultural visit, return to the lodge for lunch and some time to relax. In the afternoon, you will be transferred to Mtemere Airstrip in preparation for your scheduled 4:00 PM flight back to Zanzibar. Upon arrival, continue to your hotel or beach resort, with a transfer arranged according to your safari package, marking the end of your unforgettable safari experience.
