Maun - Moremi Game Reserve

We are going to pick you up from your lodge this morning. We will then head northwards to Moremi Game Reserve for a one (1) night stay.

Moremi boasts of diverse ecosystems ranging from floodplains, lagoons, grasslands and riverine to mophane woodland and as such, provides outstanding game viewing throughout the year. When visiting Moremi, you should therefore be ready for close encounters with everything from elephant, buffalo and antelope, followed closely by predators; lions, leopards, wild dogs, etc.

Thus, you are going to spend the day searching for the wide variety of wildlife and birds that this area is famous for. You will reach your camp in the evening to enjoy a campfire cooked dinner while you watch an African sky exploding with stars.

Finally, you will go to bed enveloped by the symphony of the bush – perhaps listening to a chorus of frogs, a lion bellowing to his pride across the savanna or a pack of hyenas’ giggles, etc.

Moremi - Khwai Concession

Wake up this morning and freshen up as usual. Thereafter, you will be served a hearty breakfast.

Once you are through with your breakfast, you will take a leisurely game drive through Moremi. During this drive you might take some time to marvel at territorial hippos ‘yawning’ at each other in the lagoons or watch African Jacanas pick weightlessly over waterlily pads as they search for food, while a fish eagle calls melodically from above.

Finally, you will leave Moremi behind and head to Khwai Concession for a one (1) night stay.

Mokoro Excursion

In the afternoon you will go for a mokoro excursion along the Khwai River (part of the Okavango Delta system). As the mokoro cuts through the water, you will paddle past an array of aquatic birdlife as well as the smaller plains game drinking at the river’s edge while sitting mere centimetres above the smooth clear water.

Departure

Depart your wilderness camp after breakfast on a leisurely drive to appreciate, one last time, one of the most scenic reaches of the Okavango – Khwai Concession.

Finally, after your safari drive through Khwai you will head back to Maun.

Our safari ends upon arrival in Maun today. You will be dropped off at Maun Airport for your onward travel or to your lodge where you will relax and rest. This will give you ample time to prepare for the next leg of your safari vacation or journey back home.
