3-Day Superior Sossusvlei Tour from Windhoek

Namib Desert

You will be picked up from your specified location and depart from Windhoek passing through the Kupferberg Pass. Your journey will take you along cattle farmland and fertile valleys used for sheep and goat farming. You will also travel the scenic and steep Spreetshoogte Pass where you will enjoy an undisturbed view on top of one of the steepest passes in Namibia! You will make a stop at the small settlement, Solitaire, and then continue to the Namib Naukluft Lodge located on the private nature reserve. You will check in, have dinner and settle in for the night.

Sossusvlei

You will rise early, enjoy a small morning snack and then leave the lodge. You will travel to Sesriem, arriving at the park’s gate around sunrise. Your journey will take you along and across the dry Tsauchab riverbed, which has found a way through the dunes until it reaches the clay pan of Sossusvlei. This journey is the highlight for a keen photographer. Your first stop will be at Dune 45 and you will then continue on to the Sossusvlei where you will climb one of the dunes.

Breakfast will be served under one of the shady camelthorn trees before you continue to the base of the "Dead Vlei". You will visit the Sesriem Canyon (a deep rift) before you return to the Namib Naukluft Lodge for a late lunch. After lunch, you will enjoy a drive to the natural Marble Mountains in the nature reserve. After sunset, you will return to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Windhoek

After breakfast, you will check out and begin your journey back to Windhoek traveling through the Remhoogte Pass or the Spreetshoogte Pass (depending on weather and road conditions). Upon arrival in Windhoek, you will be dropped off at your specified location. This is where your safari will end. Drop-off in Swakopmund is available at an additional cost.
