An Excellent Desert Experience

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the Namibia Desert tour in December 2023, and it was an unforgettable adventure. The highlight of the tour for me was undoubtedly the Deadvlei, which is truly remarkable and unlike anything I've ever seen. The landscape is otherworldly, with vast stretches of sand dunes that create a surreal and breathtaking panorama.

Our stay at the Namib Naukloft Lodge was equally impressive. The lodge offers excellent value for money, with comfortable accommodations, friendly staff, and delicious meals that perfectly complemented our desert exploration. The serene setting and thoughtful amenities provided a perfect retreat after long days of adventure. I highly recommend this tour for anyone looking to experience the raw beauty and unique charm of Namibia’s desert landscape.

Trip with getaway africa and guide Veron was a fantastic choice. He was so knowledable, dedicated and timely! I really appericate the time in Namibia and the place he took that has beatiful sunset in the middle of nowhere was splendid!

best tour if you're short on time

Overall the this was more on the expensive side compared to the other tours we did in Africa, we paid extra for a pickup from the airport as well. Obviously there are a few intermediaries involved. The tour itself was good as it included all the key touristy destinations that we wanted to visit given the limited time we were in Namibia. Accommodation was great with all inclusive meals. Communication before the tour was great and reliable. Tour guide was excellent, explained the significance of the places and any questions we had. The safari vehicle was comfortable given the rough roads we had to take and we had plenty of water to keep us hydrated.

Responsive, information, sometimes forgetful

They were very responsive during their work hours (which can be found online). They were happy to answer any questions I had. Occasionally there were some issues on paperwork such as dates were incorrect or they missed adding something to the voucher for the safari but when I caught it, it would get corrected very quickly. So pay attention, both otherwise lovely people to work with.
