3-Day Dar Es Salaam to Gombe Chimpanzee Trekking

Fly Dar-es-Salaam to Kigoma then Gombe Nat Park

We pick you up and transfer you to the Dar airport for your scheduled flight to Kigoma. Arrive at Kigoma Airport at 09:05 am. We will pick you up upon arrival and transfer you to Ujiji Town. Visit the Dr Livingstone Memorial Centre before transferring to Kibirizi port for your boat to Gombe. Pick up on arrival and transfer to the camp. At 14:00, enjoy hot lunch at the camp. Afterwards, proceed for Chimpanzee tracking in the forest. Gombe Stream’s main attraction is the Chimpanzee families that live protected in the park’s boundaries. Visitors take deep walks into the forest to observe and sit with the extraordinary primates for an entire morning. Apart from Chimpanzee viewing, many other species of primates live in Gombe Stream’s tropical forests. Vervet and colobus monkeys, baboons, forest pigs, and dik-dik inhabit the dense forest and a wide variety of tropical birdlife. Dinner and overnight will be at Kasekela Luxury Tents.

Gombe Stream and back to Kigoma town

At 08:30 am, start chimpanzee tracking in the forest. Gombe became well known for the conservation project started by Jane Goodall, who first arrived in Gombe in 1960. Apart from chimpanzee viewing, many other species of primates live in Gombe Stream’s tropical forests, like velvet monkeys, Colobus monkeys, and baboons. Climb to Jane’s Peak and visit Kakombe waterfalls if time allows. Back to the guest house for lunch, then transfer back to Kigoma town. Overnight at Sunset Vista Hotel.
