After an early breakfast at your hotel in Kigali, meet your driver/guide for a trip briefing. Begin the day with a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, a powerful and moving tribute to the victims of the 1994 Rwandan Genocide against the Tutsi.
Leaving Kigali, drive north-west through Rwanda’s scenic hills and bustling market towns (approximately 2.5 hours) to Volcanoes National Park, famously associated with Dian Fossey’s groundbreaking gorilla conservation work.

Golden Monkey Trekking & Gorilla Museum Tour, Volcanoes NP – Kigali

After breakfast, set out to track the playful and endangered golden monkeys, found in the bamboo forests of the lower volcano slopes. These lively primates offer a unique trekking experience, especially as they dart through the trees with incredible agility. After the trek, visit the Gorilla Museum at Ellen Degeneras Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund and then will be followed with the return journey to Kigali (2.5 – 3.5 hours) with the option for a drop-off at your hotel or Kigali International Airport, marking the end of your tour.
