Depart from Nairobi to Lake Naivasha and the Sopa Resort (1.5 hours). The lodge is situated by the lake and boasts beautiful grounds with large cacti and numerous acacia trees, where wildlife such as bushbuck, zebra, and giraffe often wander. The main building features an interior garden, fireplaces, and comfortable leather sofas. The rooms are spacious, Swahili-style chalets, each with either a balcony or a glass-fronted lounge area for relaxing and wildlife viewing. After lunch, you’ll take a boat safari across the lake, where you may see hippos and various bird species, including fish eagles and pelicans. Towards the end of the boat safari, you'll stop at Crescent Island for a guided nature walk.
