Set under giant trees on a private island, Xugana is a true water camp. Guests explore this beautiful corner of the delta by boat, canoe and on foot. Begin the day with a mokoro (canoe) excursion, your expert guide pointing out birds and frogs as you drift along crystal-clear rivers. A Wild Corner of Moremi Game Reserve

It’s a short flight from Xugana Island Lodge to Camp Moremi, a land-based camp set on a hippo-filled lagoon at the edge of the delta. The focus here is on game drives and for a good reason. This wild corner of Moremi Game Reserve has a long-established name for excellent game viewing. Elephants are commonly seen as are many antelope species along with buffalo, giraffes and zebras. With this much game, no wonder Moremi is a predator paradise and this area is home to big cats and wild dogs. Camp Moremi’s raised tented suites overlook the lagoon and sit under bird-filled riverside trees, pure safari magic.

Discover the Savute Wildlife Magic

Discover the Savute Wildlife Magic

Another short flight begins the day. You’ll leave Moremi and touch down in the middle of the Chobe National Park, a place called Savute. Enjoy two nights at Savute Safari Lodge, its luxurious chalets overlooking the now-flowing Savute Channel. You can watch elephants and antelope in the water below you but the real drama is found on Savute’s game drives. Expert guides lead morning and afternoon drives in the search for Savute’s most famous residents, elephants, lions and spotted hyenas. Leopards patrol Savute’s isolated rocky hills, cheetahs watch the impala herds and in summer, a great zebra migration transforms the landscape.
