Entebbe- Home stay experience

Meet up your local Shoebill guide and transfer to the South West of Uganda. Your will go through the country side doted with hills and valleys, notable are the colorful fruit markets along. On a good lucky day you will spot Zebras of Lake Mburo National Park along the road and the famous Ankole long horned cattle.
Arrive in time for lunch for a typical Nkore Ugandan meal. Relax and settle in your rooms.
Afternoon join in the cow milking session. This is an activity you don't want to miss. Milking cows without using machines sounds easy but it requires patience and a lot of skill. Evening free time and overnight.

Home Stay

This is a full day packed with activities.
After breakfast you will have hands activities including how to prepare peanut sauce and matoke, one of the highlights of a typical meal here. Cooking is done using firewood.
You will then have the opportunity to learn more about Uganda’s coffee right from planting, harvesting, drying till how coffee is brewed locally.
After lunch join the local women in various hand crafts-making activities. Listen to the local folk songs and stories as you work with the women. There will be local cultural entertainment in the evening to relax your mind after a long day’s work.

Home Stay- School Project

Early morning cup of tea/coffee then participate in another exciting activity. Traditional banana juice making.
Return home for breakfast and after we visit Kishonga Primary School, where you will get to interact with the pupils.

As a company and with support from friends we have supported this school in various projects like harvesting rain water. Here installed a water tank, we are currently running a Shoe/tree project, we have built two classroom blocks and a lot still needs to be done to improve the welfare of the pupils and uplifting the school standard.

It is quite humbling seeing the innocent smiles of the children in appreciation for a school shoe donation. To a child that walks with bare feet to school, a pair of shoes is life changing.

Tree planting of a fruit tree in your memory within the school compound and later visit Mineera hot springs. Evening there will be a campfire and barbeque to crown your stay.

Rukungiri- Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast meet the local women projects briefly and visit the school again for any voluntary work. There is also a possible foot ball match. After begin the journey to Lake Mburo National Park.

Lake Mburo is the smallest savannah National Park yet the closest to the Capital City of Uganda that is Kampala and Mbarara.
Lake Mburo is a home to over 350 bird species and animal species; notable are the zebras, Giraffes, Topis, Impalas, Reed bucks, Elands, Leopard and many more.
We will arrive early evening in time for our dinner and overnight.

Lake Mburo National Park

After a rather early breakfast morning game drive around the park featuring several game like impalas, topis, zebras, giraffes, reedbucks, elands, leopards, buffalos and many more. Notable around here is the long horned Ankole.

It is important to note that Lake Mburo National Park is one park where there is peaceful coexistence between wild animals and the local communities surrounding this Park. Part of park land is used for mainly cattle grazing and cultivation. You will occasionally see Zebras grazing together with cattle.
Relax at the lodge. Afternoon boat trip on Lake Mburo from which the park derives its name.

Lake Mburo- Entebbe

Breakfast then we go for a final horse game drive. A guided horseback ride in search of game is an interesting activity you don't want to miss at Lake Mburo National Park. Explore some tracks on horses and return to the lodge to freshen up and begin the journey back to Entebbe.
Stop over at the equator for memorable photography. Chance to be at two hemispheres at the same time.
That is the Northern and Southern hemispheres. There are several craft shops here where you can buy some souvenirs.
Grab a cup and coffee and we proceed.
Depending on your flight schedule, flight back home or overnight.
