Tour of the Southern Cape, Hermanus, Penguins & Whales
You leave Cape Town and head for the spectacular Clarence Drive on our way to Betty’s bay where we visit Africa’s largest penguin colony.
Next is the charming town of Hermanus known for being the world’s best land-based whale watching spot between the months of June to December.
Your journey continues along the Southern Cape Coast with a stop in Elim, a 19th century Moravian Missionary village and here we find quaint cottages with thatched roofs.
You continue to the coastal village of Agulhas (the southernmost tip of the continent), where you have time to relax, hike or swim in the warmer Indian ocean. Fresh fish for dinner perhaps!

Big 5 Safari & Cape Agulhas (Southernmost point on the African continent)
This morning you visit the lighthouse & walk along the boardwalk to Agulhas point. Departing you travel through the wheat lands of the Southern Cape to Mossel Bay visit the museum & Post Office Tree where the ancient Portuguese mariners started S.A's first post office. Walk up to the Khoisan cave, after which enjoy a light lunch on the beach.
At Botlierskop Private Game Reserve, a game ranger will take you on a 3-hour safari drive, where you will encounter the Big Five.
From Botlierskop, travel to Oudtshoorn, capital of the Little Karoo & renowned for its spectacular arid landscapes, & of course as the Ostrich Capital of the world as well as home to the spectacular Cango Caves.
Your luxury guest house is on a working Ostrich farm, watch a classic Karoo sunset & after an excellent (optional) 3-course dinner, watch the majesty of the Southern African night sky as the stars mesmerize & wrap you in their arms.

Oudshoorn, Cango Caves and the Safari Ostrich farm ( optional Meerkat spectacle )
After breakfast visit the Cango Caves; said to be the most beautiful in the world where a succession of galleries, finest dripstone caverns and extraordinary limestone formations can be admired.
Cango Caves are located in Precambrian limestone at the foothills of the Swartberg range near the town of Oudtshoorn,
A visit to the world’s oldest working Ostrich farm for a tour and an opportunity to ride on one of these strange birds.
Here you have the opportunity to taste the world's finest Ostrich steak.
You continue to Montagu along the famous Route 62 with picturesque villages and local handicraft
Following the Breede River valley wine route we pass the towns of Robertson and Worcester.
Driving through the Huguenot tunnel, Africa’s largest, gives you an insight to the to the huge obstacle for the first pioneers leaving the Cape for the interior.
Passing through Paarl which takes its name from the granite domes, founded by the French Huguenots.
You should arrive in Cape Town around 6pm.
