Dar es Salaam to Nyerere NP and Boat Safari Adventure in Rufiji River

At 07:30 am, our professional driver guide will drive you from Dar es Salaam to Selous Game Reserve (now known as Nyerere National Park). It will take a maximum of 3h30min to arrive and the journey will show you very good views of African inland life, landscape, mountains and environment. Once at the camp lodge, enjoy some refreshment, and relaxation. Afterwards you will enjoy a hot continental lunch at the lodge.

Head out for a boat safari along the Rufiji River at around 16:00 for two hours. Here you will encounter hippos and crocodiles in large numbers. You will also see some of the 350 bird species that have been recorded in this park. The birdlife is supported by the Rufiji River swamp land and the various small lakes and rivers. You will return to the safari lodge for a hot bath and dinner.

Full game drive

Full day of game-drive enjoyment inside the national park today and it will begin after your breakfast at 7:45am. Continue with the game drive with your packed lunch box and enjoy a bush lunch break and rest before continuing with an afternoon game drive.
This will enable you to experience the authenticity and beauty of African wildlife, topography, acacia forests and distant mountain views. The park is famous for its many elephants and Giraffes. You will also see lions, wild dog, buffalo, bushbuck, impala, eland, baboon, zebra, wild dogs and kudu in plenty numbers. Our experienced guide will get you into pristine corners of the park to see hidden animal world.

Dinner & overnight will be at the classic safari lodge.

Maasai village and the Journey back to Dar es Salaam

After your breakfast today, you will check out and go for a cultural visit at the Masai village. The Maasai are one of few African communities that have been able to maintain their culture and traditions throughout colonialism. Sing, jump, and dance with the Maasai people.

We will then embark on our return trip back to the city of Dar es Salaam, where upon arrival you will be dropped off at your hotel of choice, the Ferry Boat station or airport, if travelling to Zanzibar. Care and attention to detail all through the safari will be taken by our team to ensure an excellent safari.
