Dar Es Salaam to Mikumi National Park

We will pick you up from your hotel or the ferry and transfer you to the SGR station for your train journey to the Morogoro Region, which takes approximately 1 hours 45 minutes. Upon arrival, our friendly driver-guide will meet you and drive you to Mikumi National Park. You will begin your late-morning game drive, exploring the park’s scenic landscapes and searching for its abundant wildlife until the afternoon.

After lunch, you will have some time to relax and refresh before heading out for an exciting afternoon-to-evening game drive. This second game drive offers another excellent opportunity to spot lions, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and other wildlife as they become active later in the day.

After the game drive, you will return to Camp Lilac Mikumi for dinner and a comfortable overnight stay.

Morning–Afternoon Game Drive & Return to Dar

Your final day begins with an early breakfast, followed by an exciting morning game drive in Mikumi National Park. This is an ideal time to explore the park, as wildlife is often most active during the cooler morning hours. Enjoy the beautiful scenery while looking out for elephants, lions, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, and many other species.
At around 1 PM, you will enjoy lunch inside the park, surrounded by Mikumi’s natural beauty. After lunch, we will continue with a short game drive, giving you one final opportunity to enjoy the park and spot wildlife before departing for Morogoro.
We will arrive in Morogoro in time for the 4:00 PM SGR train to Dar es Salaam. Upon arrival, our driver will meet you and transfer you to your hotel or Julius Nyerere International Airport for your onward flight to Zanzibar or your journey back home.
This marks the end of your memorable Mikumi safari, filled with remarkable wildlife encounters, breathtaking scenery, and unforgettable African experiences.
