Day 1

Day One: Marangu Gate (1,800m/5,905ft) to Mandara Hut (2,743m/9,000ft)
Elevation Gain: 915 meters, 3,000 feet

Leave Arusha at 8 am for Marangu Gate. The drive to Marangu takes about 4 hours, and you will meet our guides, cooks, and porters when arriving at the gate. After completing gate registration, begin your Kilimanjaro trek.

Walk along a narrow trail through the Kilimanjaro rainforest for most of the hike. Eat a picnic lunch at Kisambioni, day one's halfway point. After lunch continues walking through the rainforest until reaching Mandara Hut.

Relax for the rest of the day or take a short walk to Maundi Crater. The views to the east over Taveta and to the northwest to Mawenzi Peak are stunning on a clear day, making the short hike well worth the effort.

Day 2

Day Two: Mandara Hut (2,743m/9,000ft) to Horombo Hut (3,720m/12,200ft)

Elevation Gain: 977 meters, 3,200 feet

After breakfast, leave Mandara Hut and Kilimanjaro's forests for Horombo Hut. Most of this day’s hike will be through Kilimanjaro's moorland, a rocky landscape with desert-like plants.

Eat a picnic lunch at Kambi ya Taabu before continuing to Horombo Hut. If the weather is clear, enjoy beautiful views of Mawenzi and Kibo peaks. Arrive at Horombo Hut at around 3 pm and relax for the rest of the afternoon.

Although extremely busy, the Horombo Huts are considered the best on Kilimanjaro. The small, A-frame buildings can accommodate up to eight people each and provide lodging for hikers ascending, descending, and acclimatizing.

In total, Horombo accommodates up to one hundred hikers and many more porters, cooks, and guides.

Day 3

Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut

Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut

Day Three: Horombo Hut (3,720m/12,200ft) to Kibo Hut (4,750m/15,580ft)

Elevation Gain: 1,030 meters, 3,380 feet

Leave Horombo Hut after breakfast to hike through the moorland and alpine desert of Kilimanjaro's upper altitudes. After hiking for about an hour arrive at Maua River, a small mountain stream.

After Maua, the terrain becomes flatter and the vegetation begins to disappear. Break for lunch at Middle Red Hill. After lunch, continue on a steady incline for another two hours through Kilimanjaro's Saddle.

Although the environment on the way to Kibo is a bleak desert with little vegetation, you will enjoy stunning views of the Kibo and Mawenzi peaks. Reach Kibo Hut around 3 pm to rest and prepare for your midnight climb.

Day 4

Very early in the morning (midnight to 2 am), commence the climb to the summit on steep and heavy scree or snow up to Gilman’s point located on the crater rim.

Continuing, we now ascend to Uhuru Peak, which is the highest point in Africa. There are unbelievable views at every turn. Have your picture taken at the summit to show your friends and family.

From here we descend, stopping for lunch and a rest at Kibo before continuing on to the Horombo encampment.
The beginning of this climb is done in the dark and requires headlamps or flashlights.

It will be very cold until you start descending, so you will need all of your warm layers. This is by far the most difficult part of the trek with many switchbacks. Going slowly “pole pole” and an optimistic attitude will get you there.

Day 5

Marangu gate - Moshi - Zanzibar

After breakfast, a steady descent takes us down through moorland to the Mandara Hut. Continue descending through a lush forest path to the National Park gate at Marangu. At lower elevations, it can be wet and muddy.

Gaiters and trekking poles will help. Shorts and t-shirts will probably be plenty to wear (keep rain gear and warmer clothing handy).

A vehicle will be waiting for you at Marangu gate to drive you to the Kilimanjaro Airport for your Transfer to Zanzibar and taken to your hotel for overnight.

Day 6

Zanzibar City tour and Prison Island

Zanzibar City tour and Prison Island

After breakfast, you will meet your guide and start a city tour exploring the Zanzibar City with its locals at Stone town such as the buildings, local markets and get to know the full history of this archipelago.

You’ll explore the Old slave market and get a full history, then Old fort, Fred mercury house, first East Africa building to have an elevator, exploring the different houses build in different styles in stone town such as the house of slave master Tip Tip, Princess Salme house.

Also, explore the Doorway styles of Zanzibar (Indian style and Arab style) which were once built in early time but till now are available.

13:00 pm lunch at the picnic site/ Any good restaurants in the city. After Lunch continues with Prison Island's breathtaking. It’s a very quiet place to visit and is filled with very giant tortoises believed to have more than 100 years and you’ll get a fully colonial history on how prisons were ruined. In the late evening, you’ll be dropped at your hotel.

Day 7

Safari blue

7:00 am breakfast at the lodge. 8:00 am pick up by our guide and brief you about the tour. Safari blue is among the classic watersport adventure in Zanzibar.

This trip involves sailing with a boat to a different island like Fumba, Menai, and so on. At the tour, you’ll be offered bites and soft drinks, the tours highly depend on sea weather so it may even start earlier.

It’s a 6hour excursion, our guide will take you to a nice beach (Nungwi/Kendwa) for sailing. Upon arrival, you’ll be offered all safety gears and snorkeling gears then board a boat.

The captain on your way will stop at 2 potential points where you can snorkeling and spot a beautiful coral reef with a lot of fish species and wonderful mangroves.

13/14 pm lunch at the picnic site. Then after lunch, if not tired our guide may offer you another trip where you can sand bath, and swim till late evening, and later you will be taken back to your Lodge for Dinner & Overninght.

Day 8

After breakfast, you’ll be picked and start heading to spice island, On the Spice tour you’ll be taken to an organic farm where spices are planted, cultivated, harvested, packed, and processed throughout the year.

Zanzibar is a small island but one of the best spice producers. Spices and herbs such as clove, lemongrass, turmeric, vanilla, coconut, papaya, black pepper, jack fruit, chilly, cardamom, nutmeg, cinnamon, and many others all found in Zanzibar.

Then after lunch, you’ll have a market trip and short window shop to see how these fresh spices from the farm after been packed and placed where people from different parts either within or outside island go and buy spices and herbs cash only and I hope you’ll take some to your mama country.

After the spice tour sharp you’ll be taken to Kendwa beach for swimming and sand-bath and in the late evening, you’ll be dropped back to your hotel.
