Transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

You will be picked up from Kigali Airport in Rwanda and then transfer to Uganda through the Cyanika border. You will arrive in Kisoro town in time for a hot lunch. Afterward, proceed with a coffee experience where you will learn how coffee is grown, treated, harvested, and roasted. You will learn how to make espresso locally with the farmers at the site.

Mount Sabyinyo Hiking and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Early in the morning, you will drive to the park headquarters for mountain hiking. On arrival, you will be briefed by a ranger-guide on the do's and don't's while hiking this volcanic mountain. The mountain is 3,669m high and it is shared by Uganda, Rwanda, and the Congo. On reaching the top, you will be in 3 countries at the same time. After a successful hike, you will be transferred to Bwindi for relaxation, a drive of about 1.5 hours. Arrive at your accommodation at Bweza Gorilla Lodge.

Gorilla Trek in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, you will head to the 8:00 am briefing about gorilla tracking by the park rangers about the rules and guidelines. You will be allocated a gorilla family and there will be only 8 participants per group. You will then start hiking in the forest, looking for the gorillas. This activity might take 2 to 5 hours, or longer, depending on what type of food they want to feed on. Once you have spotted them, you will spend an hour with them, taking photos and videos and learning more about their behavior. After this encounter, transfer back to your lodge for relaxation. You may choose to visit the community if time allows.

Transfer to Kigali Airport in Rwanda

After breakfast at your lodge, you will check out and say goodbye before embarking on your journey to Kigali. Upon arrival in Kigali, you will go on a city tour that introduces you to some of the historical sites such as the Nyamata Church and the local markets. You will also visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre to learn more about the 1994 genocide and the transformation of the country. Later, you will be transferred to the airport for your departure.
