Dar es Salaam - Mikumi National Park

Your adventure begins early at 07:00, with a private pick-up from Dar es Salaam Airport or your hotel, followed by a scenic drive to Mikumi National Park. En route, enjoy a hearty breakfast at a local restaurant in Msolwa around 08:30.
Arrive in Mikumi for a late lunch at the camp, then head out for an afternoon game drive across the park’s open plains. Keep your eyes peeled for the distinctive Mikumi giraffe, believed by naturalists to resemble a cross between the reticulated and Maasai giraffe. The park is also home to lions, elephants, buffaloes, wildebeest, and leopards, offering excellent wildlife viewing opportunities.

Your safari continues to the hippo pool, where you’ll observe hippos lounging in the water and elephants gathering at the waterhole to drink. Enjoy the golden hues of the sunset over Mikumi’s savannah, then return to Camp Bastian (or similar) by 19:00 for dinner and overnight stay.

Begin your day with a relaxed early breakfast at 06:30, soaking in the tranquil atmosphere before setting off at 07:30 for a full-day game drive in Mikumi National Park. Traverse scenic landscapes shaped by the Great Rift Valley, with sweeping views of savannahs, woodlands, and distant mountain ranges.

Throughout the day, you’ll have the chance to spot a wide array of wildlife including elephants, giraffes, kudus, lions, leopards, jackals, hyenas, and other iconic African species. Mikumi’s rich biodiversity and open terrain offer excellent opportunities for photography and immersive wildlife encounters.

As the sun sets, return to Camp Bastian (or similar) for a delicious dinner at 19:00 and a restful overnight stay surrounded by nature.
