Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport you will be met by a Tales of Tanzania Transfer Driver and driven to your lodge where the remainder of the day is at leisure – rest in your room, enjoy a refreshing swim in the pool or explore Arusha and the surrounding areas.

Day 2

Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park

Today after breakfast you will be collected from your lodge and drive to Tarangire National Park with lunch boxes. The drive to Tarangire National Park is about 110 Km and takes about 2 hours from Arusha
Tarangire National Park is a huge park best known for its large herds of elephants, but it’s also great for lion and leopard, wonderful for bird life, great variety of landscape and wildlife. The gorgeous Silale Swamp, towards the south of the park, is magnificent and almost always rich in wildlife taking advantage of this reliable water source. The park provides water not only from the swamp, but also from the Tarangire River and during the dry season it’s the primary source of water for animals from the entire area, making for fantastic viewing.
After a full day in the park, we will drive to Burunge Tented Camp for overnight and dinner.

Day 3

Lake Natron

Lake Natron

Today after breakfast you will travel to the wild and remote Lake Natron which is off the beaten path and away from the crowded places. Located at the base of Africa’s only active volcano (Oldonyo Lengai) and between Ngorongoro Highlands and Serengeti plains, Lake Natron lies in a dry and desolated area also inhabited by the Maasai.
This lake is one of the most alkaline lakes in the world and a special shelter to millions of tiny crustaceans, attracting literally thousands of lesser flamingos. You will trek to the local waterfalls where you will have the opportunity to swim. Beautiful and surrounded by lush vegetation, these waterfalls break the yellow-coloured pattern found in the savannah.

In the morning your guide will take you for an adventurous walk at shores of the Lake. Being on the shore of Lake Natron as the sun rises is something you will never forget. Lake Natron is often described as having a lunar beauty. The lake gets its reddish colour from salt-loving organisms and algae. Amazingly, 2.5 million flamingos make Lake Natron their home and it is one of their only breeding grounds.
You will have a chance to experience these incredible birds and then return to camp for breakfast before driving to Karatu where you will stay for the night.

Day 5

Serengeti National Park

Today after breakfast your driver guide will pick you from your lodge and you will drive to the famous Serengeti.

You will visit a Maasai Village in the Ngorongoro Highlands (optional) where you will meet the Elders, Warriors, women and children and learn about the culture, beliefs and traditions of Tanzania’s last nomadic tribe

The central Serengeti boast those spectacular “endless plains,” dotted with acacia trees and the occasional rocky kopjes — What is special about Central Serengeti is the wide open spaces, driving through the miles and miles of animals as far as the eye can see, riverine forest and leopard. There is nice chance of seeing leopard along the river valleys also the wildebeest spread over a large area (It can be visited at any time of the year)

You will have your lunch in the park thereafter continue with the game drive. In the evening you will drive to an authentic intimate tented camp set in a secluded part of the game-rich Seronera Valley in Central Serengeti.

Day 6

Before sunrise at around 6 am, we leave the lodge for an early morning game drive. This is generally the best time to spot the wildlife, as the temperature is cool and the animals are still very active, including the big cats, which will be returning from a night of hunting.

You will then drive back to the lodge for a leisurely breakfast followed by a pure relaxation break. You will then go for another game drive and sunset viewing over the Serengeti, and then drive back to your lodge.

Day 7

Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Today you will be rewarded with the game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater. This crater is the world’s largest intact collapsed caldera (volcano) which is a self-contained ecosystem with its own unique population of wildlife in a confined area of amazing variety. The crater boasts lots of lions, hyenas, fantastic birdlife, servals, Cape buffalos, zebras and gorgeous landscapes. There is also an added advantage of seeing rhinos if you are lucky.

You will have your lunch in the crater and then continue with the game drive till sunset hours and then drive to the rim where you will be led by a professional walking guide along the crater rim for a walk of about 2 hours. Here, a wealth of information can be gleaned from the smallest of tracks, including which animals have passed by recently, and whether they could still be in the area. The natural setting of the bush gives a thrilling aspect to the sightings, much more than a usual vehicle safari.

Day 8

Lake Eyasi

Lake Eyasi

Lake Eyasi is located about 75 km from the Ngorongoro Crater and is the largest soda lake in Tanzania. The lake is the home of the Hadzabe and the Datoga tribes. Meeting them and sharing a moment of their daily life, will undoubtedly procure a more candid picture of traditional tribal life in Tanzania. Observing an early morning hunting display, gathering honey, making fire to prepare their food and traditional dance performances are all part of this singular cultural experience.

After enough time with the tribes, you will drive to Karatu town where you will stay for the night.

Day 9

This is another lovely park, lying roughly between Tarangire and the Ngorongoro Crater. It boasts a beautiful little groundwater forest where you can spot Blue Monkeys lots of giraffe, elephants, lion, leopard and a very pretty lake dusted pink in the distance with flamingos.
Stretching for 50km along the base of the rusty-gold 600-metre high Rift Valley escarpment, Lake Manyara is a scenic gem, with a setting extolled by Ernest Hemingway as “the loveliest I had seen in Africa”.
After the game drive you will join your guide for a village tour - you will Cycle through Mto wa Mbu Village where you will experience local life and enjoy the sights and sounds of this vibrant town before riding to a Mama’s house where you will feast on a traditional Tanzanian meal before driving to Arusha for your final safari night.
