Zanzibar - Serengeti

Today, you will transfer to Zanzibar Airport for your flight to Serengeti National Park. On arrival in Serengeti, you will have a game drive to the northern part of Serengeti (where the migration should be). It is near the Mara River where you have a high chance of seeing some of the migratory crossings. Enjoy the afternoon game drive, thereafter return to the Mara Kati Kati Tented Camp for dinner and overnight.

The Serengeti National Park is the world's last great wildlife refuge as it contains an estimated 3 million large animals. Most of them take part in a seasonal migration that is one of nature's wonders. The area covers 14,763 sq km and the name Serengeti comes from the Maasai word "siringet", meaning endless plains.

Today, you will have a game drive in North Serengeti on your way to Central Serengeti.
We arrive for your overnight stay at Kati Kati Tented Camp.

The endless plains of the Serengeti are also the setting for the world’s greatest wildlife spectacle – the endless 1.5 million wildebeest migration in search of fresh pastures. Each year, they trek over 2,500km and are constantly threatened and followed by some of Africa’s greatest predators. Depending on the time of your visit, your driver-guide will take you to the herd’s current location in Serengeti.

Serengeti - Zanzibar

Spend the morning in Serengeti, whereafter you will drive to the Seronera Airstrip for your flight back to Zanzibar.

There are several documented resident lion prides within a 1-hour game drive radius from Seronera. During the dry season, the resident prides begin to shift west and north in their territories and concentrate in the central region of the park. The dry season is a particularly good time for lion viewing in Central Serengeti. The Central Serengeti is also one of the best areas in Africa to spot the elusive leopard. You may be lucky enough to encounter this majestic cat in the branches of the sausage trees that dot the banks of the Seronera River.
