Upon your arrival at Entebbe Airport, you will be welcomed by a Great Lions Safari tour guide then transferred to your accommodations in Kampala. The guide will spend some time briefing you on your upcoming 14-day tour across Uganda, otherwise known as the Pearl of Africa. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the hotel.

Kampala - Murchison Falls National Park
After an early morning breakfast our driver-guide will pick you from your hotel. You will then start your six-hour journey to Uganda’s oldest park. Along the way you will pass the Luwero Triangle and stop at the Ziwa sanctuary for white and black rhino tracking. You will later proceed to Masindi town for lunch. After lunch, we will make our way to the top of Murchison Falls (the strongest falls in the world ). Along the way you will see various animal species (warthogs, baboons, and many others) and beautiful vegetation. Being at the top of the falls is an amazing experience. You will watch the magnificent falls squeezing through the rocks of an 8m gorge. Take as many photos as you can. Later you will drive to your lodge.

Murchison Falls National Park
On this day you will eat an early breakfast at 6:30am. Your driver-guide and ranger will pick you up from the lodge to start your game drive at 7:00am. During your drive you will be able to see various animals such as lions, elephants, water bucks, giraffes, antelopes, and buffalos (among others). At around 11:30am you’ll drive back to the lodge to relax and freshen up before lunch. In the afternoon you will go for a boat cruise and see various animal species such as the Nile crocodile, hippos, buffaloes, elephants, and many beautiful bird species (including bee eaters and the shoe-billed stork). The boat cruise will take you to the bottom of the mighty Murchison Falls. Here you can opt to hike to the top of the falls or drive back to the lodge.

Murchison Falls - Kibale National Park
After an early breakfast you will transfer to Kibale National Park. Along the way you will stop at Fort Portal to see the crater lakes and eat lunch in the nearby city (Uganda’s tourism center). After lunch you will visit the Amabere Caves, which have an interesting history. Later you will make your way to your lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Kibale National Park - Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast in the morning, you will be briefed about the dos and don’ts of trekking chimpanzees. You will then set off to look for chimpanzees in the forest. Trekking may take 6-8 hours (depending on their location). Along the way you may be able to see a variety of other species, including the black and white colobus monkey. After your trek you will return to your lodge, have lunch, and then proceed to the Bigodi wetland. Here you will be able to see various animals, including red-tailed monkeys, baboons, bush pigs, otters, and many different bird species (such as the great blue turaco). You can also associate with some of the local who live near the swamp. Later you will make your way to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Queen Elizabeth National Park
Your day will begin early with a search for tree climbing lions and the Uganda kob’s mating rounds. We will also search for elephants, buffalos, and other animals in their natural habitat before returning for lunch. In the afternoon we will go on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, which occurs naturally between Lake Edward and Lake George. Thanks to the abundant birdlife, elephants, buffaloes, and hundreds of hippos found here, this cruise will be one of the highlights of your safari. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the lodge.

Queen Elizabeth National Park - Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Today we will depart the beautiful area of Queen Elizabeth, Uganda’s second largest and most visited park, and drive to the southwest. This journey will take you through the Kigezi Highlands and its various terraced hills. We will arrive in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park late in the afternoon. You’ll enjoy beautiful views of the forest at your lodge, where you’ll have dinner and your overnight stay.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After an early breakfast you will attend a briefing with your ranger guides at 7:00am. With lunch, drinking water, and a walking stick in hand, you will then follow the rangers into the forest for your gorilla trekking experience. It may take anywhere from two to eight hours to find the gorillas. Upon finding these gentle giants you will be allowed to spend one hour with them. Take pictures and watch as they eat and play. Later you will return to the lodge to relax and freshen up. In the evening you may opt to go swimming. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the lodge.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Today you will enjoy the Batwa Trail, which offers a firsthand introduction to one of the most unique cultures in the world. The Batwa pygmies are a forest people who were displaced from the rainforest they once shared with the mountain gorillas. This experience today will give you the opportunity to learn more about their age-old culture. You will go on a hike with Batwa guides, see how they lived and hunted, hear ancient legends, and learn about medicinal plants. The revenue generated from these activities directly benefits the Batwa to strengthen their community. In the evening you will be transferred back to your lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - Lake Bunyonyi
After breakfast we will depart for Lake Bunyonyi, the second deepest lake in Africa. Upon arrival you will have lunch and relax before taking a canoe trip around the lake. You will take in the beautiful birds who live here (including the kingfisher, shoe-billed stork, and many others), the nearby islands, and the sunset. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the lodge.

Lake Bunyonyi - Lake Mburo National Park
After breakfast we’ll depart the magnificent Lake Bunyonyi and head to Lake Mburo National Park. Lake Mburo is the smallest park in Uganda. It is very rich in bird and animal speices. You will have lunch in Mbarara city along the way. Upon entering the park we may spot some zebras and antelopes. After checking in, you will go on a boat ride on the lake to see the rich bird life and abundance of hippos. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the lodge.

Today you’ll enjoy a horseback riding safari and picnic breakfast in the park. You’ll return late in the afternoon in time for a hot lunch. After lunch you can relax for a bit before going on a guided walk with a ranger. Lake Mburo is the only national park where you can experience a safari on foot. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the lodge.

After breakfast you will check-out and drive back to Kampala. You will arrive in the afternoon and check-in at your hotel. After lunch you will visit the local craft market and go on a brief city tour. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the hotel.
