Day 1

We will pick you up from your hotel, transfer you to Zanzibar Airport, and depart on the 6:00am flight to Nyerere National Park. We can arrange for your pick-up from any location in Zanzibar!

Upon arrival at Nyerere National Park, we will take you on a game drive where you will see the area's many wonders.

The park is home to a large population of elephants, buffalo, hippos, crocodiles, and endangered wild dogs. Commonly seen are lion, bushbuck, impala, warthog, ostrich, giraffe, eland, baboon, zebra, hyena, kudu, rare sable antelope, and leopard. In addition, there are great animal sightings, including other significant species like the rare African hunting dog.

Around 1:00pm a hot lunch will be served before you embark on a game drive for the rest of the day. Then, finally, you will drive to Selous Safari Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Next, embark on a serene boat safari along the Rufiji River, where you’ll witness hippos, crocodiles, and an array of bird species thriving in their natural habitat. The peaceful glide along the water offers a unique perspective of the park’s diverse ecosystem. After your adventure, return to the lodge for a delicious lunch. Then, it’s time to say goodbye to the wild as you transfer to the airstrip for your afternoon flight back to Zanzibar. Upon arrival, a driver will greet you and escort you to your hotel, ensuring a smooth and relaxing end to your two-day journey. This day blends culture, nature, and comfort—making it a highlight of your Tanzanian escape.
