Upon arrival at either Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK), you will be warmly welcomed by a Safari Africa United representative, who will transfer you to your hotel in Arusha for an overnight stay. This will give you time to relax and prepare for your upcoming safari adventure starting the following day.
If you arrive early, you may choose to enjoy an optional Arusha city tour to explore the local culture and attractions.

Day 2
Arusha – Ndutu (via Ngorongoro Conservation Area)

Your safari adventure begins at 8:00 AM with a pick-up from your hotel in Arusha, heading toward the Ndutu region. After about two hours on the road, you will enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area where the scenery transforms from lush, hilly forests to wide open plains and vibrant grasslands.
Upon arrival in Ndutu, you will embark on a half-day game drive, pausing midday for a relaxing picnic lunch in the heart of the wilderness.
The Ndutu area features sweeping grasslands that gradually merge into the Serengeti ecosystem. It forms a key part of the Great Migration route, hosting over two million wildebeest. Between December and April, fertile plains become a calving ground, offering extraordinary wildlife encounters as predators take advantage of the abundance of newborn prey.
After an exciting day of game viewing, you will head to your lodge or tented camp for dinner and a peaceful evening await you.

Full-Day Game Drive in Ndutu – Following the Great Migration
After being amazed by the previous day’s sightings of the Great Migration, today offers another incredible opportunity to witness this breathtaking natural spectacle. The Ndutu region lies within both the Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, offering an exceptional diversity of landscapes and wildlife.
Throughout the day, you will follow the migration depending on its current location. Between December and April, the fertile Ndutu plains transform into calving grounds and nurseries, where thousands of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles give birth to their young. This abundance of new life attracts numerous predators, providing dramatic and unforgettable wildlife encounters.
As the sun sets over the plains, you’ll return to your accommodation, where a freshly prepared dinner awaits.

Day 4
Ndutu – Ngorongoro Crater – Karatu

After an early breakfast at your accommodation, you will depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. En route, you will stop at the Ngorongoro Crater viewpoint, where you can take in the breathtaking panoramic views before descending into the crater itself.
The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera, forming a spectacular natural amphitheater approximately 265 square kilometers in size and up to 600 meters deep. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to around 30,000 animals, making it one of the most wildlife-dense areas in Africa.
The crater offers some of the best opportunities to spot the “Big Five”
You will enjoy your picnic lunch at a designated site within the crater before continuing your game drive through the afternoon. Later, you will ascend the crater walls and drive to your accommodation in Karatu for a relaxing evening, dinner, and an overnight stay.

Day 5
Tarangire National Park to Arusha
Tarangire National Park to Arusha
After an early breakfast at your accommodation in Karatu, you will be picked up by your private driver-guide. You will head to Tarangire National Park which takes approximately 1 hour. Tarangire National Park is one of the largest parks in Tanzania that covers an area of 2,600 square kilometres. The park is most popular for its large elephant herds and giant baobab trees. With more than 300-strong herds of elephants, visitors will find big groups of buffalos and healthy populations of lions and leopards.
During the dry season, Tarangire has the highest concentration of mammals in the country. There are wild dogs and rare antelopes such as gerenuk, plus more than 550 species of birds to spot throughout the year. You will have picnic lunch boxes which you will have inside the park. After lunch and further game viewing, you will drive straight to Arusha or to the airport.
