Day 2

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

You will be picked by our Driver Guide from Kampala and you embark on your journey
to the famous Queen Elizabeth National Park. The Park covers an area of about 1978
km2 and its position provides a magnificent view of the rift valley floor that occupies
Lake Edward and George. The park has one of the highest bio diversity ratings of any
National Park in the world as its well known to be habitat of about 95mammals along
with 612 species of birds. Have an evening Game Drive and Check in to your lodge for
dinner and overnight.

Queen Elizabeth National Park’s diverse eco-system of grassy plains, tropical forest,
rivers, swamps, lakes and volcanic craters is home to an incredible abundance of
wildlife. Have an early morning game drive where you have an opportunity to view the
massive Rwenzori as backdrop, which provides excellent opportunities to spot lion,
leopard, giant forest hog, Cape buffalo, elephant, defassa waterbuck, Uganda Kob, topi
and bushbuck. The game drives and the boat trip (taken prior) are memorable
methods of discovering a vast array of Ugandan wildlife. Be sure to have your camera
ready for these amazing sightings.
After lunch take a unique 2-hour Private boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel into Lake
Edward. This trip passes through possibly the highest concentration of hippos and this
launch/cruise offers an excellent platform for photography, bird watching and game
viewing. The prolific bird life is colorful and stupendous, with well over 550 resident
species.

Morning game drive in Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth national park on your way to
Bwindi in search for the famous tree climbing lions other wildlife. Lions are always
spotted clinging on old fig trees. A drive through this open savannah landscape
characterized with a variety of acacia trees is quite a memorable adventure.
Later drive to Bwindi via the beautiful scenery of the tea plantations. This is the
lushest highland rain forest on earth, filled with primates and exotic birds. In the
evening go for a walk to visit the local community living around the park.

After an early breakfast, you will go out for briefing before the gorilla trekking experience. Although the
hike can be physically demanding, the anticipation of the exciting experience ahead is
amazing, and the beauty of the gorilla forest and its inhabitants are fascinating. One
of Africa’s major highlights is when you encounter these gentle apes. It is a humbling
experience to stand just meters from man’s distant cousins as they eat rest, play and
bond with their young ones. You are allowed an hour with the gorillas before finally
sloping down back to your lodge. If your trek was relatively short, you may have a
guided nature walk around the lodge and the surrounding communities in the
evening. Return to the lodge where you will enjoy dinner with your fellow travelers
before getting a good night’s rest for tomorrow's safari adventure.
Don’t forget to carry your rain gear, packed lunch, plenty of water, gloves, hat, and water proof
bag for protection of your camera in case of rain.

Transfer to Rwanda

Transfer to Rwanda

Have a relaxed Breakfast and There after you will transfer to Rwanda crossing the
border at Kyanika. Arrive in Parc Nationale des Volcanoes area in evening. Time
allowing and based on your preference in the evening, you can visit the Batwa
Vocational center and watch them perform local dances.

where you will be briefed about the rules and regulations concerning gorilla trekking
in the park. This activity is really thrilling as you will have amazing views of the
Virunga’s, and when you meet the gentle giants, you will watch them play, feed,
among other things, which is an unforgettable experience. Later after trekking head
back to the lodge for a late lunch. Throughout the evening, you can take a walk in the
community or choose to stay and unwind at the lodge.

to the Genocide memorial center in Kigali – The center was officially opened in 2004 to
Mark the 10-commemoration of 1994 genocide that was against the Tutsi in Rwanda.
The center serves as the final place where masses can flock to grieve for their lost
ones, and as for today; it acts as a museum where both locals and international
visitors can learn about the history, implementation and consequences of genocide.
Time allowing Proceed to visit the oldest Nyamirambo town in Kigali. It is a huge stretched corner which is
sometimes referred to as a gangsters’ Paradise! Characterized with Many Muslim
residents, Mosques and unlike other places that close by 8pm with everyone inside
their homes, Nyamirambo hustles and rocks late Into the nights! Later Transfer to the
Airport for Out Bound Flight Back Home.
