You will be picked up after breakfast from Kigali and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the southwestern part of the country. You will arrive in the afternoon and rest at Broadbill. In the evening, you'll go for the Batwa village cultural experience to have an experience of how they go about their daily routine activities and be amazed by the way they skillfully cultivate the hillsides and how they care for their animals (cows) which are a prime source of pride. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at the lodge.

Gorilla Trek in Bwindi and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
You'll have an early morning breakfast and move to the park headquarters to join other trackers in a briefing about the gorilla trekking rules at 7:45 am. You'll trek through thick creepers and undergrowth with your guides to find the gorillas, which can take you 1-8 hours. The steeply forested landscape is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access by tourists. You will have one hour to stay with the gorillas. Once sited, you'll transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. The drive will be across a beautiful part of the country often referred to as ‘the Switzerland of Africa’ because of its unique cool weather. This lake is said to be one of the most beautiful places in western Uganda. It is the second deepest lake in Africa (900 meters deep) and also one of the few places in the country where it is considered safe to swim as it is bilharzia-free. You will take a boat ride on this lake and hike to different viewpoints before returning for dinner and an overnight stay.

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park for a Boat Cruise and Game Drive
You'll wake up early in the morning, have your breakfast, and set off for Queen Elizabeth through the volcanic formation of the western Rift Valley towards Queen Elizabeth National Park. The descent reveals a stunning panorama of Lakes George and Edward amidst game-filled plains. You will reach in the afternoon, check in your lodge have lunch and some rest. In the afternoon, you'll go on the unique boat cruise that takes 2 hours on the Kazinga Channel and onto Lake Edward. The trip passes through possibly the highest hippo concentration in Africa and many mammals may be seen drinking water. The cruise offers an excellent platform for photography and game viewing. The birdlife is colourful and abundant. In the evening, you'll go for a game drive with a chance to see elephants, lions, and buffaloes. Later, you'll return for dinner and an overnight stay.

Chimp Trekking in Kalinzu Forest and Transfer to Akagera National Park
You will wake up early in the morning, have breakfast and head to Kalinzu Forest Reserve for up to 4 hours of chimpanzee trekking with a tracker and guide. The forest reserve is home to 6 groups of chimps, comprising over 300 individuals. Please bring suitable closed walking boots and long trousers! Afterwards, you'll transfer to Akagera National Park in the eastern part of Rwanda via the Kagitumba border. You will arrive late in the evening for dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Game Drive and Boat Cruise on Lake Ihema and Transfer Back to Kigali
Today early in the morning, you'll set off at 6:30 am for a morning game drive. Akagera National Park is majorly a savannah park with elephants, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, and recently introduced lions. You will take a game drive in search of these mammals. The game drive can last about 4 hours depending on the animal sightings and interest.
You will have lunch at Akagera Game Lodge or a picnic lunch in case you packed before going for a boat ride on Lake Ihema to see aquatic animals such as hippos, crocodiles as well as water birds like the papyrus Gonolek, shoebill stork and African fish eagle. Afterwards, you will drive out of the park arriving in Kigali later that evening. In line with your flight timing, you will be transferred to Kigali International Airport for your departure flight.
