5-Day Bwindi-Volcano Hike and Local Coffee Adventure

Travel to Bwindi

Embark on your journey at 9:00 AM with a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, a deeply moving experience that takes approximately two hours. From here, enjoy a scenic drive to Musanze, where you will explore the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund and learn about the remarkable conservation work of Dian Fossey—an experience that will enrich your upcoming gorilla trek.
After lunch, we continue our journey, crossing the border into Uganda and heading to the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Upon arrival, check in at your lodge, and later in the evening, your guide will brief you over dinner in preparation for the unforgettable gorilla trekking adventure awaiting you the next day..

Trek Gorillas

This is a day's activity. Breakfast is served by 7:00 a.m. We advise one carries packed lunch in form of a snack and enough litres of water like 1.5 litres.

We then head to the National Park gate for registration and briefing. After registration and briefing one will be assigned a group for trekking with a guide and rangers. Then trekking starts for the gorillas this takes 30 mins - 2 hours depending to the location of the gorillas. You are then given an hour to view the gorillas and then asked to return to the briefing point where you will be awarded a trekking certificate from Uganda Wildlife Authority.

We then move to the lodge to rest.

Local Coffee Experience

Breakfast will be served at 8:30 am, then we set off at 9:00 am. We arrive in Kisoro and check in the hotel. The room has complimentary offer for the swimming pool and health club you can choice what you want to do. After lunch we head for our local coffee experience where you will learn coffee processing from the gardening, post harvest handing, value addition and cup tasting. You will be then given a souvenir of our local organic coffee to take back home. We then travel back to the hotel.

Hike Volcanoes

Breakfast will be served at 6:00 am. We then set off to Mgahinga National Park to the gate of the preferred hike at 6:30 am. Its a one hour drive from the Kisoro town. Briefing is done at 7:30 am then the hike starts at 8:00 am. Remember to carry the following a packed lunch, a lot of water, rain jacket with you. The hike takes like 8 hours. After the hike we return to the hotel to rest.
