Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will meet our driver-guide who will brief you on your 7-day tour and then transfer you to your hotel.

After a light refreshment, you will drive to the Kigali Genocide Memorial grounds for a sobering tribute to the victims of the 1994 genocide. Afterward, you will explore the colorful markets and experience the vibrant nightlife of Kigali city.

Day 2

Hike and Primate Spotting

Hike and Primate Spotting

You will rise to an early breakfast to start your day before you drive to Nyungwe National Park for a thrilling hike through the forest. On arrival, you will start the hike with a guide who will assist you in spotting various primates.

The park is home to a variety of primate species including chimpanzees and colobus monkeys. You will observe the diverse wildlife as the guide elaborates on the different characteristics, behaviors and facts about the incredible creatures. You may opt to participate in a canopy walk above the trees to relish in the magnificent bird’s-eye view of the scenic landscape.

After the exciting hike, our driver-guide will transfer you to your hotel to check in. He will brief you on the next day’s program as you settle in for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3

Boat Cruise and Farm Visit

Boat Cruise and Farm Visit

After an early breakfast, you will meet our driver-guide and drive in a northwestern direction to Lake Kivu, a picturesque lake surrounded by rolling hills. Here, you will go on a boat cruise to explore and learn interesting facts about the resilient marine life and the way of life in the surrounding areas. You may also opt to relax at the beach, go swimming or kayaking.

After the thrilling boat trip, you will head to a local coffee plantation to learn about the production process of the world’s best-known beverage – coffee. During your visit to the plantation, the site guide will elaborate on the different varieties of coffee and how each is grown. You will also learn about the seasons and the different activities performed on the coffee fields in each season. After an educational visit to the farm, our driver-guide will transfer you to a pre-booked hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4

After breakfast, your guide will drive you northwards to Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda, home of the mighty mountain gorillas. Along the way, you will make multiple stopovers for our driver-guide to highlight interesting features.

On arrival at Volcanoes National Park, you will check in at your pre-booked accommodation at Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge or similar. The driver-guide will brief you in preparation for the next day’s gorilla trekking experience as you settle in for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5

Gorilla Trekking and Transfer to Akagera National Park

Gorilla Trekking and Transfer to Akagera National Park

You will wake up to an early breakfast in anticipation of the thrilling gorilla trekking experience. After breakfast, you will meet our driver-guide and head out with your packed lunch to the briefing station where you will start your trek into the mountains in search of the gentle giants. You will spend up to 1 hour with the gorillas.

In the afternoon, our driver-guide will transfer you to your next destination – Akagera National Park. This amazing 1,122 sq. km of protected area is home to a variety of wildlife species such as lions, elephants, zebras, buffaloes, giraffes and hundreds of incredible bird species.

At Akagera National Park, you will check in at Mantis Akagera Game Lodge for a nature-themed experience.

Day 6

Game Drive and Boat Cruise

Game Drive and Boat Cruise

Enjoy an early coffee to prepare you for the day's exciting activities. Breakfast will be served at 6:00 am so that you can head out early for the game drive with our driver-guide in the national park to learn about the amazing wildlife. You will have a chance to see lions, elephants, giraffes, impalas and zebras among many others. Return to the lodge for lunch as you prepare for an afternoon boat trip.

The boat trip rewards you with a close-up view of the wildlife as they come to drink as well as good sightings of marine life such as crocodiles, hippos and waterbirds among hundreds of other bird species.

After the boat ride, you will return to the lodge and settle in for dinner and an overnight stay.

At 9:00 am, you will meet our driver-guide for your transfer back to Kigali. In Kigali, you will have a stopover to visit the local crafts markets to buy souvenirs if you wish. The driver-guide will highlight interesting features as you navigate the city roads on your way to Kigali International Airport.

Your arrival at the airport will conclude your tour with us.
