Day 1

Meet on arrival at the Airport, transfer to Kigoma town and check in at Kigoma Hilltop Lodge base on bed and breakfast.
Kigoma, situated in the Western Province of Tanzania, is a laidback and attractive little town. The streets are lined up with small stores and street traders. Touring around the fish markets, shops and stall keeps you occupied for the day. It was to Kigoma that the legendary steamer, the MV Liemba, was brought by rail by the Germans during the World War I and assembled there, before being used as a military expedition ship against the British forces. It is also the last place where an emissary was sent to trace the whereabouts of the great scientist, missionary and explorer, Dr Livingstone. The Kigoma Hilltop Hotel has a lot to offer during your leisure time such as bird watching, tennis court, swimming pool, gym, private beach and a variety of water sports activities.

Day 2
Drive Kigoma to Mahale

Early in the morning at 7:00 you will be picked up from the hotel and drive to Mgambo Village and take the boat to Mahale Mountains National Park and arrive during the evening time and get the meal. Have some rest to gain the power for chimpanzee trekking the next day. Dinner and overnight at Mahale Mango Bandas.

Day 3

You will get breakfasts at 08:00, and go for Chimpanzee trekking in the forest. The hikes takes you to the chimp’s habitation areas are accessible and not strenuous, although being in good physical condition will ease the strain of walking through the jungle! Up close, observing the endangered primates is an once-in-a-lifetime experience. Meals and overnight at Mango Bandas
Mahale National Park is 120km South of Kigoma and was gazetted in 1980. The Mahale Mountains are one of the most remote and beautiful national parks in Africa. The park is halfway down the Eastern shore of the enormous Lake Tanganyika and has more than 700 chimpanzees. The area is also inhabited by a wide range of animal species, from elephants, giraffes, buffalo, lions, and lots more in the Eastern woodland. It is also one of the best beach locations in the world with superb swimming, sailing, snorkeling, and fishing.

Day 4
Drive back to Kigoma
Drive back to Kigoma
Breakfast at 07h00, After breakfast go for chimpanzee trekking up to 11h00 return back to the camp, get hot lunch then take a boat transfer back to Mgambo village. Meet your driver and drive back to Kigoma town. On arrival transfer to check in at Kigoma Hilltop base on bed and breakfast.
