Nairobi to Amboseli National Park - Approx 250km (5-hour drive)

Depart for Amboseli National Park via the Nairobi-Mombasa Road. The drive is via typical African savannah country dotted with local homesteads and colorful Maasai herdsmen grazing their cattle. Arrive in time for lunch and later venture into the park for the scheduled afternoon game-viewing drive.

You will spot the wild herds of elephants up close and see why it's little wonder that the park is the best place in Africa to spot such herds. It is also home to many other species such as Cape buffalo, impala, lion, cheetah, spotted hyena, Maasai giraffe, zebra and blue wildebeest among other African animals. The birdlife is also abundant with both large and small species. If the weather permits, Amboseli National Park offers a beautiful vista of the scenic snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro which makes it a perfect site for photography. It is the tallest mountain in Africa and the highest free-standing mountain in the world.

Dinner and your overnight stay are at the booked lodge.

Amboseli National Park

On this day, enjoy a full-day game-viewing extravaganza in Amboseli. With its reputation for active elephant sightings, it’s easy to spot them roaming the plains in the morning and evening. During much of the day, you can observe them splashing and foraging in Ol Okenya Swamp. We will also stop at Observation Hill to view the sprawling, breathtaking view of Amboseli.

You may opt to have a full-day game drive or enjoy the game drives in separate successions so that you may also have a chance to enjoy the lodge facilities. The driver guide will be readily available to discuss your daily activities as per your preferences, including an optional visit to a Maasai village (at an extra cost).

Amboseli National Park to Lake Naivasha - Approx 350km (7-hour drive)

Have an early breakfast and then check out and proceed to Naivasha, arriving for lunch. Time permitting, you will have a brief stop at the scenic Great Rift Valley viewpoint. The Rift Valley stretches from the Beqaa Valley in Lebanon in Asia to Mozambique in Southeast Africa. It’s a series of contiguous geographic trenches, approximately 6,800 kilometers (4,300 miles) in total length, and much of it is found in Kenya, where it has literally cut the country in two.

Lake Naivasha's shores host abundant birdlife including pelicans, cormorants, and fish-eagles. There are more animals per acre than in any other Kenyan park, hence many film companies have been to the island to film the herds of wildebeest, waterbuck, zebra, buffalo, and gazelle.

In the afternoon, go on an optional visit by boat to the hidden gem, Crescent Island Game Sanctuary, which is surrounded by water (it is actually a peninsula) at a cost of $60 per person.

Dinner and your overnight stay are at the booked lodge.

Lake Naivasha to Lake Nakuru - Approx 80km (2-hour drive)

After breakfast, we'll depart for Lake Nakuru National Park. Lake Nakuru is one of the Rift Valley soda lakes at an elevation of 1,754 meters (5,755 feet) above sea level. The park's size is about 188 square kilometers and is ideal for bird watching and wildlife viewing. It’s also a sanctuary for black and white rhinos.

Lake Nakuru National Park also hosts the rare Rothschild’s giraffe which was introduced to the park in 1977. Luckily, these animals have become accustomed to the vegetation type in Lake Nakuru National Park and have slowly become an indigenous species of the park. The lake's abundance of blue-green algae used to attract a vast quantity of flamingos that famously lined the shore.

We will arrive in good time for lunch. Later, proceed for an afternoon game-viewing drive. Afterward, return to the booked lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara National Reserve - Approx 220km (4 to 5-hour drive)

After an early breakfast, we will proceed to Masai Mara National Reserve, arriving in time for lunch. The reserve is located in Southwest Kenya, with a vast scenic expanse of gently rolling African savannah plains measuring approximately 1,510 square kilometers in area and bordering Serengeti National Park in Tanzania to the south. It's famous for its spectacular natural diversity of wildlife. This happens to be a premier Kenya safari location in East Africa, offering visitors many reasons to visit this animal paradise.

Large numbers of lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, African buffalos, wildebeests, giraffes, rhinos, zebras, gazelles, and many more animals are found in the park in their natural habitat. They are unconfined and free to roam the vast wilderness stretching for miles on end.
