Arrive at Iringa Town

You arrive in Iringa from Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar, or elsewhere. You will relax and spend your night at the Iringa Sunset Hotel. Iringa has a fascinating history, and the legacy of its German colonial architecture is still visible. Iringa is a great place to learn about Tanzanian culture with the help of a local guide. The town has a fascinating ancient history and spectacular rock art at Igeleke that dates to the Iron Age. We can arrange transportation from your place in Tanzania to Iringa if required.

Day 2

Ruaha National Park

Ruaha National Park

Early morning, you will have breakfast and board your vehicle, ready to explore Ruaha National Park. It is a maximum of 2-hour drive from Iringa to the park. Compared with other parks in the northern circuit of the country, Ruaha is home to the largest concentration of elephants, lions, and even crocodiles in Tanzania on the shores of the Great Ruaha River. It is a quiet place with no congestion, like the northern parks. It is the remoteness and utter vastness that makes it so compelling. Lunch is a picnic you enjoy during the full day game drive, giving you energy for the rest of the day. The game drive will continue until 4:00pm when you drive back to Iringa. Upon arrival, you will be dropped off at your predetermined drop-off point. If an additional night's accommodation is required, arrangements can be made at an extra cost. Iringa is also home to several historical sites like Isimila, Mkwawa Museum and cultural centres.
