Fly to Khwai, Arrive at Mma Tsebe Camp
Fly to Khwai, Arrive at Mma Tsebe Camp
A short light aircraft flight from Maun lands you at Khwai airstrip, where a game drive transfer of approximately 30 minutes brings you through the bush to Mma Tsebe Camp. The camp sits in a secluded 25-hectare area of riverine forest along the Mbudi River on the northern boundary of the Moremi Game Reserve, a setting that feels immersed in the wilderness.
Mma Tsebe is an owner-run camp with eight spacious en-suite Meru-style tents, each raised on a private deck overlooking the river. The tents are well designed for the bush environment - large windows throughout that roll up for maximum airflow, fans, charging facilities & comfortable beds that can be made up as doubles or twins.
The camp is intimate & unpretentious, with a pool, a tastefully appointed dining & lounge area. The Mbudi River draws a steady procession of game to the water's edge throughout the day, & the surrounding mix of floodplain, woodland &riverine bush is one of the Delta's most productive wildlife corridors.

Day 2-3
Game Drives in the Khwai Concession & Moremi Game Reserve
Game Drives in the Khwai Concession & Moremi Game Reserve
Enjoy twice daily game drives into the Khwai Community Concession, a 35,000-hectare reserve that shares its western boundary directly with the Moremi Game Reserve, giving wildlife complete freedom of movement across both areas. Khwai is consistently one of the most productive game-viewing areas in the Okavango, with lion, leopard, cheetah, elephant & large buffalo herds all regularly encountered. African wild dog - one of the most sought-after sightings on the continent - are a genuine feature of this area, & the open woodland & floodplain terrain makes for excellent sightings when they are found. Mokoro rides are available in front of camp, if water levels permit. Full day trips to Moremi can be arranged with a boat cruise in the Delta waterways.
The landscape changes markedly across the concession, from dense riverine thicket to broad open floodplains where predator activity plays out in full view.

Day 4
Fly to Southern Delta, Arrive at Moremi Crossing
Fly to Southern Delta, Arrive at Moremi Crossing
A light aircraft transfer takes you from Khwai to Ntswi airstrip in the southern Okavango, Arrive at Moremi Crossing, perched on the palm-fringed island of Ntswi and overlooking the Boro River and the famous Chief's Island beyond.
The contrast with Khwai is immediate and striking. The landscape here is defined by open channels, papyrus-lined banks and shimmering floodplains rather than woodland and game tracks. The camp's 16 Meru-style tents are set on raised wooden decks, each with a private veranda looking directly across the Boro River to Chief's Island. Interiors are comfortable and simply furnished, with en-suite outdoor showers heated by solar power.
The crescent-shaped main area is built across several open deck levels, all with sweeping Delta views, housing the dining room, bar, lounge areas and a small curio shop. A shaded deck leads to a plunge pool, and the pace of the camp is deliberately slow and restful.

Day 5
Explore the Okavango Delta
Explore the Okavango Delta
Moremi Crossing is first and foremost a water camp, and your day here is shaped by the Delta's rhythms rather than a fixed schedule. A mokoro excursion is a must, glide silently through the channels in a traditional dugout canoe, poled by a guide whose knowledge of the waterways is instinctive. From water level, the Delta reveals itself differently: the papyrus reeds tower above you, hippos surface a few metres away, and the birdlife is extraordinary. Subject to water levels, motorboat cruises offer a longer reach into the broader Delta, allowing access to remote lagoons and channels that would otherwise be unreachable.
Bush walks on Chief's Island are another option, taking in elephant, giraffe, zebra, buffalo and predators on foot with an experienced guide. When water levels are low, game drives through the Gunn's Private Concession come into their own, with lion, leopard and elephant all well represented in the area.

Day 6
Return to Maun
Return to Maun
You will enjoy a morning activity before being returned to the airstrip. Take a small charter flight back to Maun Airport, arriving in time for your onward travel.
This itinerary combines naturally with a stay at a third Delta destination, or theSavuti or the Linyanti are excellent complements and a few nights in Chobe National Park for exceptional elephant and river game viewing, or a Victoria Falls extension across the border into Zimbabwe. Any of these add depth to an already outstanding Botswana experience.
