Depart to Tarangire National Park

Travel to Tarangire National Park, taking approximately 2-3 hours. Tarangire is a sanctuary to an unusually large elephant population. Majestic baobab trees are an interesting feature of the park. Animals concentrate along the Tarangire River, which provides the only permanent water supply in the area. There is a great diversity of wildlife including lions, leopards, cheetah, and up to six thousand elephants. Enjoy the game drives until late afternoon when you transfer to the comfort of your Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Lake Natron

After breakfast continue off-the-beaten track to Lake Natron following the Rift Valley Escarpment northwards. Your drive passes through typical Masai land and soon Oldonyo Lengai – the holy mountain of the Masai – will appear in the distance before reaching the small Masai village of Ngare Sero. Enjoy a guided tour to Lake Natron, whose shores shimmer in pink as thousands of flamingos come to breed on the alkaline lake. Alternatively, you can choose to wander to the nearby waterfall to take a refreshing bath.

Serengeti National Park

After breakfast you will commence your drive to one of the most famous game parks in Africa, the Serengeti. Serengeti is home to millions of wildebeest during the migration and over the huge flat plains, you are likely to find lions, cheetah, leopards, hyenas, and many other small predators. Your guide will choose the best wildlife viewing locations for the time of year. Spend time at the hippo pool, watching these enormous animals laze about in the cool water alongside the crocodiles, watch a lion stalking its prey, or be staggered by the scale of the great wildebeest migration. The journey from wide, open plains to the kopjes, volcanic rocky outcrops that provide protection and shelter for a wide variety of animals. This diverse and interesting landscape will provide you with the ultimate in-game viewing. In the late afternoon retire to the comfort of your Luxury Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Full Day Action in Serengeti National Park

Waking up in the Serengeti is something really special. Sights, sounds and smells of Africa are all around us, and ahead is a full day of adventure in the world’s most famous national park. After breakfast, we start today with the morning section of our game drive in Serengeti National Park, marveling at the stunning scenery, ever changing light and always entertaining wildlife, all explained to you by your expert driver-guide.
After our picnic lunch, we set off again, searching for wildlife in this awe-inspiring park. Serengeti’s wonders evolve subtly as the day progresses. The myriad animals and birds are the ‘stars of the show’ and Nature’s dramas can unfold at any time. Of course, the animals don’t work to any schedule, so we may find lion or leopard, elephant and zebra, cheetah and antelope at any time on our drives. At the end of the afternoon, we return to the comfort of our Lodge for dinner and some much needed rest.

Serengeti - Ngorongoro Highlands

Today, we will leave the Serengeti plains. But before that, we have another morning game drive in amazing Central Serengeti, marveling at its animal inhabitants. Another day of adventure, another day to enjoy the wildlife. The Seronera River enjoys year-round water flow, so there is always something of interest to observe. Several game drives can be undertaken here and might reveal lions in sizeable prides, hippo or herds of elephants - whose populations in the park have Risen in recent times. Depending on other attractions, we may choose to call in at the Serengeti Visitor Centre, where there is an excellent explanation of the park’s eco-system and a chance to understand the history of conservation in this area. After lunch, we head south-east towards Ngorongoro and later to the comfort of your accommodation for dinner and overnight ready for another true spectacle on the following day.

Ngorongoro Crater - Arusha/Airport

From our safari Lodge, we set off after breakfast, a 7:30 am departure and then descend into the vast crater itself for a 7 hours game drive. At one side there’s the Lerai Forest, classic mountain forest landscape with almost tropical characteristics. This is good elephant country, so keep your eyes peeled. By the side of the nearby swampland is what is sometimes called the ‘elephant graveyard’ as the mighty male tuskers at the end of their lives come to chew on the soft, swampland grasses once their teeth have failed them. Buffalo, Thomson’s gazelle and eland are also present in numbers. Hippos can be found in pools and swampland and highland birdlife is colorful and plentiful around the waters. Flamingos can often be seen in Lake Magadi, which occupies part of the crater floor. In the late afternoon at around 3pm, ascend the crater and drive back to Arusha to your booked hotel for some much needed rest or drive to the Airport if you have a scheduled flight.
