Mwanza to Western Serengeti

This safari has been curated to offer you the best of East Africa’s wildlife, while also ensuring your comfort, safety, and a relaxed pace that allows you to fully enjoy each national park experience.

Your journey begins in Mwanza, a city located on the shores of Lake Victoria. After meeting your guide, you will embark on a scenic drive to the Serengeti National Park.

Within 2 hours you will be at the western Ndabaka Entrance of the Serengeti. You will start spotting wildlife as soon as you enter! This area is renowned for the Grumeti river, the easiest way to spot some of the biggest Nile Crocodiles in the Serengeti.

You will be provided with packed lunch boxes that you can enjoy in wild under a tree. You will then start heading towards the Northern Serengeti amidst the huge herds of wildebeest and Zebras.

As the sun sets over the Serengeti, you'll drive to your accommodation for a hearty dinner and a peaceful night's rest, surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.

Mara river and migration

To increase your chances of viewing wildlife, start your day with an early morning game drive. Spend the day exploring the northern Serengeti's Mara river and continue to observe the Great Migration in anticipation of sighting a crossing.

The migration is a game of patience and waiting, you will spend more time near the river reading movements of the herds. You can choose to enjoy a packed lunch or take a break and enjoy a warm lunch at your stay.

In the evening, you will return to your accommodation for another night in the heart of the wildlife.

Paid Optional: Balloon Safari (Early morning only)
This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity provides a magical and bird's-eye view of the Mara river and zebra and wildebeest covered landscapes, making it an essential addition to your migration safari itinerary.

If you missed the river crossing on the first day, don’t worry — you have another full day to witness the magic of the Great Migration. Start early with a morning game drive. Spend the day exploring the northern Serengeti and the Mara River region, closely following the movements of the herds in hopes of catching a dramatic crossing.

The migration is all about patience and timing. You'll spend more time near the river, reading the signs and rhythms of the wildlife. Enjoy a packed lunch in the bush or head back for a warm meal at your lodge — the choice is yours.

As the day winds down, return to your camp or lodge for another night surrounded by the sounds of the wild.

Optional: Balloon Safari (Early morning only)
This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity provides a magical and bird's-eye view of the Mara river and landscapes, making it an essential addition to your safari itinerary. The balloon safari is extra-cost and must be reserved in advance.

Serengeti to Mwanza

This is the last day of Safari. You will have warm breakfast in the morning and proceed for half day Game Drive back towards the western Corridor of Serengeti. You can enjoy your last packed lunch within the wildlife before you proceed to Mwanza by late afternoon.

This schedule of the day can be adjusted if you will be catching a flight on the same day from Mwanza.
