You will be picked up from your hotel at 6:30 am. Drive along the Nairobi/Mombasa highway to arrive at Amboseli AA Lodge in time for lunch. Go on an afternoon game viewing.

Amboseli National Park is one of the most-visited game parks and the second-most popular park in Kenya after the Masai Mara National Reserve. The park protects 2 of the 5 main swamps and includes a dried-up Pleistocene lake (Amboseli Lake). It is the best place in Africa to get close to wild herds of elephants among other wildlife species. Other attractions in the park include opportunities to meet the Maasai people and spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa and the highest free-standing mountain in the world (19,500 feet).

Amboseli National Park to Tsavo West National Park

Have breakfast at your lodge, then proceed on a drive for 2 hours. Make a stopover at the Tsavo River where you will learn more about the man eaters of Tsavo. In early 1889, many railway workers were attacked by 2 huge male lions. Colonel Peterson was successful in shooting both of them. The film, Ghost and the Darkness, takes you back to the memories of those days.

On arrival at the gate, have an en-route game drive as you head to the camp for check-in and lunch. Relax until 15h30. You will then visit the Rhino Sanctuary, Ngulia Hills, Lake Jipe, and Poachers Lookout. Tsavo West is one of the wildlife corridors of mostly the Big Five (elephant, rhino, lion, buffalo, leopard). Other animals include giraffe, hippo, warthog, antelope, zebra, and baboon. The birds included ostriches, eagles, and vultures. About 450 bird species have been recorded, most of them migratory.

Dinner and your overnight stay are at Taita Hills Safari Resort & Spa with an option to upgrade.
