Day 1

After breakfast at your hotel in Dar es Salaam, you will be heading to Nyerere National Park. The journey will take about 5 hours. You will arrive during lunchtime. It is an ideal trip if you would like to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the river. In the afternoon, you will have a boat trip to admire hippos and crocodiles in their natural habitat around the Rufiji River. Usually, the afternoon boat trip leaves camp at 4 p.m. and returns at 6:30 p.m. Boat safaris are also the best excursions for bird enthusiasts. The river has over 350 bird species and offers an opportunity to try fishing with tiger fish and catfish. Meals and overnight stays are provided at the camp.

Day 2

The second day will be a full day game drive, and your trip will start right after breakfast. Your safari guide will point out rare species of animals like the wild dogs and black rhinoceros. Other animals like the Nile crocodile, hippopotamus, sable antelopes, Cape buffalo, hartebeest, and eland live along the banks of the Rufiji River. Nyerere National Park is home to a large population of elephants, a large number of buffalo, and wild dogs. Other species commonly seen are lions, bushbucks, impalas, giraffes, baboons, zebras, and Kudus. Picnic lunch and drinks will be served in the wilderness before heading back to camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3
Nyerere to Mikumi National Park
Nyerere to Mikumi National Park
After breakfast, you'll go for a walking safari, the most exciting experience unique in Tanzania, accompanied by armed game ranger for about two hours. Thereafter, you'll proceed with wildlife viewing en route to Mikumi National Park on the way enjoying the landscape. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at the camp.

Day 4

Mikumi National Park
In the morning after breakfast, you'll go for a full day of wildlife viewing in the park. The Mikumi floodplain is the main feature of the park, along with the bordering mountain ranges. Animals commonly found here include lion, eland, hartebeest, buffalo, wildebeest, giraffe, zebra, hippo, and elephant. The Mikumi elephants are mainly grazers and do not cause damage. In the evening, you will return to the campsite for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5
Mikumi to Dar es Salaam
Mikumi to Dar es Salaam
After breakfast at the campsite with your packed lunch boxes, you will visit the Maasai Village near the park to see and enjoy their life. Then, you'll drive to Dar es Salaam via Morogoro town. You will arrive late afternoon or early evening. You'll be dropped off at the airport/ hotel, or ferry, just in case you have any other schedule.
