Day 2

After an early breakfast, transfer to Kinigi Park Headquarters for your trekking briefing. Set out on the challenging but rewarding hike up Mount Bisoke, a dormant volcano rising to 3,711 meters. The trail takes you through lush rainforest and afro-alpine vegetation with chances to see wildlife along the way. At the summit, marvel at the spectacular crater lake and sweeping views of the Virunga ranges that straddle Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Return to your lodge for relaxation and overnight.

Day 3

Begin the day with breakfast before heading back to Kinigi for a guided hike to the Karisoke Research Center. This historic site was established by American primatologist Dian Fossey, whose pioneering work brought global attention to the plight of mountain gorillas. Trek through the forest to her grave, where she rests alongside gorillas she protected. Learn about her conservation legacy and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the Virunga slopes before returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge or Similar.

Day 4
Golden Monkey Trekking and Return to Kigali
Golden Monkey Trekking and Return to Kigali
Enjoy an early start for your final adventure in Volcanoes National Park. Today you will track golden monkeys, an endangered species found in the bamboo forests of the park’s lower slopes. Known for their playful nature and quick movements, these primates offer a lively and memorable wildlife encounter. After the trek, drive south-east for about 2.5 to 3.5 hours back to Kigali. Your guide will drop you at your hotel or Kigali International Airport, marking the end of your 4-day Rwanda adventure.
