3-Day Fly in Nyerere NP (Selous) Safari from Zanzibar

Hotel Pickup & Flight transfer to Nyerere NP (Selous)

You have a morning pick-up from your hotel in Zanzibar for your scheduled flight to Nyerere National Park (part of the formerly Selous Game Reserve), arriving for a full breakfast. After breakfast, your wildlife experience begins as soon as you enter the park, heading into prime game-viewing areas where you can catch a glimpse of some of the amazing animals. At noon, you will have lunch at one of the picnic spots inside the park.

Enjoy the thrill of spotting impala, lion, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, elephant, buffalo, and kudu, among other animals. Your entire day will be spent on game viewing, bird watching, and stopping off at the various waterholes en route. We depart the park in the late afternoon and return to the camp for an evening of relaxation.

Village + Maasai Boma Tour and Sunset Boat Safari

After breakfast, depart at 9:30 to one of the famous Maasai bomas, where you'll have the opportunity to interact with the Maasai and other people in the nearby villages. Catch a glimpse into their culture and unique way of life, and see firsthand some of their customs and practices. Arguably, the most iconic tribal group in all of Africa is the Maasai, who still retain many of their traditions as they live largely untouched by modern-day civilization. After the Maasai boma tour, return to the camp for lunch at 13:00.

After your hot lunch, relax at the camp before setting off for the 2.5-hour sunset boat safari starting at 16h00 along the great Rufiji River. Uniquely, the Rufiji River game-viewing experience promises abundant sightings of hippos and crocodiles, as well as a variety of bird species. Before the sun sets, you will have a sundowner stop at the sandbank. Return to the camp at sunset, in time for a beverage and dinner.

Morning Bush Walk, Flight Back to Zanzibar & Hotel Transfer

Today, you will be woken up early for coffee and tea before departing for a bush walk at 06:30. Guided by a qualified bush guide, we learn about nature's finer details like bird, tree, and spoor identification. You will return to the camp at 08:30 for a full breakfast. You will then have a chance to relax at the camp before your flight back to Zanzibar Island in the afternoon.

Upon arrival on the island, your driver will transfer you to your hotel. It's been an incredible tour, filled with moments you'll want to share with family and friends, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
