As you enter the park, prepare to be mesmerized by the vast expanse of golden savannah surrounding the Tarangire River. Known as the 'Elephant Playground,' Tarangire boasts the largest population of these majestic creatures.
Marvel at the park's iconic baobab trees, sprawling savannah, and picturesque acacia woodlands. While the terrain may get dusty, simply don a scarf to keep comfortable as you witness an abundance of wildlife in their natural habitat. Ngorongoro Crater -- Arusha & Depart
Embark on an early adventure after breakfast, departing at 6 am from your accommodation to ensure ample time to reach the rim of the crater and descend into its vast expanse. On one side lies the Lerai Forest, boasting a classic mountain forest landscape with tropical characteristics.
The Ngorongoro Crater is home to a diverse population of wildlife, including approximately 120 lions with distinct territories, 15,000 wildebeest, 9,000 zebras, 400 hyenas, and around 50 black rhinos. Buffalo, servals, jackals, Thomson's gazelles, and elands are also abundant, while hippos inhabit pools and swamplands.
