Day 1

Visit Kigali city & Bugesera reconciliation village

Embark on a historical exploration of Kigali city, visiting landmarks from colonial, post-independence, genocide, and post-genocide times. This includes a visit to the Kigali Genocide memorial site and the Belgian camp.
In the afternoon, transfer to Bugesera to visit the reconciliation village, where survivors and perpetrators of the genocide live together.

Transfer to Akagera National Park, where you will receive a briefing upon arrival. After lunch at the lodge, embark on a boat cruise at Lake Ihema to observe hippos, Nile crocodiles, water birds, and buffaloes.
Then Embark on an afternoon game drive in search of the big 5 (lions, rhinos, leopards, elephants, and buffaloes), as well as various antelope species and rare birds. Later in the evening you will return to your lodge for overnight stay.
