Day 1-2

Amboseli Sopa Lodge

Amboseli Sopa Lodge

Go on a guided tour in a 4x4 pop-up roof Jeep to view the great Mt. Kilimanjaro (usually visible early in the morning or late in the evening). You can also look out for herds of elephants foraging the marshy swamps, over 400 bird species, blue wildebeests, zebras, Maasai giraffes and a 3-D view of the entire park from Observation Hill. Optional activities include a visit to the Maasai village, a nature trail and a hot-air balloon trip.

While at Naivasha, you will be taken on a boat ride to visit Crescent Island and a nature trail to witness various species of birds and other animals. Other activities that you might be interested in (at an extra cost) are swimming at the geothermal spa and a tour of the gorges at Hell's Gate Park.

Masai Mara National Reserve

This is an intense and extensive game drive to the famous Masai Mara, home to all animals and birds. These include the Big Five (lion, elephant, leopard, rhino and buffalo), various types of antelopes, zebras, Maasai giraffes, wildebeests, and crocodiles and hippos in the Mara River. An optional hot-air balloon ride (at an extra cost) can be arranged for more game viewing.

This is another day of intensive game drives with packed lunch boxes to search for the Big Five and various other animals and birds. If you happen to visit from July to October, you will be lucky to experience the Seventh Wonder of the World - the great migration with wildebeests and zebras. The crocodiles in the Mara River trap wildebeests and zebras for a kill and feast - a fantastic phenomenon! As you drive back to the camp, you will see the beautiful sunset.

Ending the trip

Ending the trip

After breakfast, an optional visit to the Maasai village (at an extra cost) to experience the rich culture of the Maasai people is a good way to end the trip.
