Zanzibar Island - Fly into Nyerere National Park

Optional early morning pickup from your hotel in Zanzibar at 04:30 AM for transfer to Zanzibar Airport. Your flight departs at 07:00 AM and arrives at Mtemere Airstrip at 08:00 AM. Upon arrival, you will begin your game drive in this vast, virtually undisturbed 50,000 sq. km sanctuary. Expect to encounter a rich variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions, elands, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, wild dogs, lesser kudu, hippos, and crocodiles. The park’s diverse vegetation ranges from dense thickets to open wooded grassland, offering stunning scenery throughout your safari. You will enjoy a picnic lunch in the bush before continuing with another game drive into the late afternoon. Afterwards, return to your camp for dinner and a relaxing overnight stay.

Nyerere National Park-Full Guided Game Drives & Boat Safari

After an early breakfast, set out for a full-day safari, depart for a full-day safari in Nyerere National Park. Explore its vast wilderness of savannah, miombo woodlands, and riverine forests in a 4x4 vehicle with an expert guide. Spot wildlife such as elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, and the famous African wild dogs, along with diverse birdlife. Enjoy a short bush break and a scenic picnic lunch within the park. In the afternoon, continue game viewing before heading for a 2-hour boat safari along the Rufiji River, where you may see hippos, crocodiles, and animals gathering along the banks. Return to camp in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay, concluding a memorable safari day.

Return to camp for breakfast, then continue with an en-route game drive as you head to the airstrip, enjoying final wildlife sightings along the way. Arrive in time for your scheduled flight departing at 12:40 hrs and arriving in Zanzibar at 14:20 hrs. This marks the end of your safari experience!
