Along the way, admire vast herds spread across the plains, including migrating wildebeest and zebras, graceful giraffes, antelope, and gazelles, as well as powerful African elephants. Located within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, the crater supports more than 120 mammal species, including the legendary Big Five. It is one of the best places to encounter the endangered black rhinoceros and to observe large pods of hippos resting in the crater’s wetlands.

Exploring the crater floor in an open-top vehicle offers exceptional opportunities for wildlife viewing and photography. The area hosts a dense population of predators such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, jackals, and hyenas, alongside abundant herbivores including wildebeest, zebras, various antelope species, and Cape buffalo.
