Day 1

Nairobi - Masai Mara

Nairobi - Masai Mara

Your African safari in Kenya begins upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, where you’ll be greeted and transferred to the office for finalization and a tour briefing. Then, you will be transferred to the Masai Mara National Reserve. We will have a stopover at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint for some awesome pictures and a brief explanation about the escarpment wall. Your safari continues with another stop at Narok town for shopping and refueling. Later, the safari deepens to the Masai Mara, where you arrive at the camp and have lunch.

Proceed for your first game drive in the Masai Mara, starting your quest to spot the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino). Return to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Start the day with an early morning game drive to catch wildlife during their most active time for an unforgettable experience of a Kenyan African safari. Consider an optional hot-air balloon safari at sunrise for a unique perspective of the savannah. Venture to the Mara River, where you might witness the dramatic scenes of the great migration if the timing is right. Continue exploring different parts of the park in the afternoon, with chances to see cheetahs, giraffes, and zebras, after having your lunch in the wilderness. Continue with lunch until around 5:00 pm, then return to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, you will depart with picnic lunch boxes for a full-day game viewing in the Masai Mara National Reserve. A Masai Mara safari is an unmissable highlight of any holiday in Kenya. There are breathtaking panoramas in every direction, a vast range of wildlife including the Big Five, and a rich cultural heritage to explore. Kenya’s Masai Mara is, without doubt, one of the greatest safari destinations in Africa.

Between July and October, things get busy in the great migration. Millions of zebras and wildebeest make the perilous crossing across the Masai Mara in search of new grazing territory. In their wake comes a veritable horde of predators, including lion and leopard. Our guide will ensure you capture the best photographic opportunities and provide insight into the diverse cultural practices of the Maasai people's local communities. Day 4

Masai Mara - Nakuru

After breakfast, visit the Maasai community in Mara to get a glimpse of their way of life. Dance with the Maasai people, learn more about their culture, their way of living, and how they measure their wealth in terms of the number of cattle and the number of children, before departing for Nakuru and having lunch at Mai Mahiu. Enjoy the breathtaking views of Lake Naivasha from a distance, as well as the stunning sight of Mount Longonot, while traveling to Nakuru. Zanzi African Safaris offers you delightful optional activities on Lake Naivasha, such as boat riding. Next, you will move on to Nakuru. Enjoy dinner and spend the night at the Buraha Zenoni Hotel.

Your African safari starts with a morning game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park, which is well-known for its flamingo population and for being a sanctuary for endangered black and white rhinos. Take in the breathtaking sight of the coexisting buffalo, crocodiles, and hippos, among other aquatic creatures. You will engage with the baboons and observe this from the vantage point of Baboon Cliff. Eat a picnic lunch and then proceed to Naivasha later in the day. We will spend the evening and night at the Leisure Apex Hotel.

Have an early breakfast at the hotel as you prepare for great activities at Hell’s Gate National Park. You can enjoy a safari drive with your guide or decide to cycle to cover the 14 km down to the gorge. Enjoy a guided nature walk before ascending to the main gate to exit the park. Drive to Amboseli National Park with a stopover for lunch on the main highway. Arrive at the Amboseli campsite in time for sunset, dinner, a bonfire, and overnight.

Have an early breakfast, then go on a game drive in Kenya’s second-largest park and take in the stunning wildlife that may be seen up close. Enhance your Kenyan safari experience with the majestic Amboseli elephants and the thunderous roars of the area. When you can see Mount Kilimanjaro, the biggest snow-capped mountain in Africa, the vista is much better. Enjoy a picnic lunch. You can have an optional excursion to the villages, payable in advance. You will end the day with a return to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
