After being picked up from your hotel or the airport, your journey to Samburu National Reserve begins. En route, you will enjoy scenic views of the majestic, snow-capped Mount Kenya and experience the unique opportunity to cross the equator.

Upon arrival at the reserve, you will check in at Samburu Sopa Lodge and enjoy a relaxing lunch. In the afternoon, embark on your first game drive, exploring the reserve's diverse landscapes and wildlife.

Full Day Samburu National Park Safari

We start the day with a game drive in the morning to get the best light and the opportunity to take pictures of a range of wildlife before spending the rest of the day touring Samburu National Reserve. Along with Samburu buffalos and elephants, the big cats—cheetahs, leopards, and lions—can be seen during mid-morning and afternoon drives. Nile crocodiles abound in the Ewaso Nyiro River, and the reserve offers a variety of wildlife and birdwatching opportunities, including uncommon dry-country species that are exclusive to the region.

For an extra charge, we can visit a Samburu hamlet to learn about the customs and culture of the Samburu people, or we can choose to spend the entire day in the reserve with picnic lunches.

Samburu NR - Ol Pejeta Conservancy

After breakfast, we proceed to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, a region known for its varied landscapes—from towering mountain views to deep, V-shaped valleys carved by rivers, streams, and waterfalls. Upon arrival, you’ll check into your lodge, enjoy lunch, and later have dinner and an overnight stay. The lodge features four viewing decks, each with a private balcony and lounge, inspired by Noah's Ark, offering exceptional wildlife sightings right from the comfort of your room as animals come close.

After lunch, enjoy an afternoon game drive in Ol Pejeta Conservancy.
