Day 1

Transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

Our driver guide will pick you up from the Hotel/Entebbe, and then you start your scenic Journey to Mgahinga National Park in southwestern Uganda. The journey from Kampala to the park is about 8-9 hours. You will stop at the Equator and later have lunch in Masaka town before you proceed to the park. You will arrive late evening for Dinner and overnight.

Day 2

Hike Mount Sabinyo

Hike Mount Sabinyo

Very early in the morning (006hrs am) after breakfast, transfer to the park office to meet the park guides for briefing and set off for the Mount Sabyinyo hike in Mgahinga National Park then you will start the hike to the top of Mount Sabinyo, a Virunga Volcano that you can only access its summit from the park. The summit of the mountain lies at 3,645 meters (11,959 ft) and marks the intersection of the borders of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Rwanda, and Uganda. The slopes of Mt. Sabinyo are a habitat for the critically endangered mountain gorillas.
The mount has three peaks, and hikers aim to conquer all three; however, some hikers may decide not to trek to all three. Walking sticks are provided for free, while porters are available for hire. After hiking to its park, have some rest and your packed lunch. Later, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3

Cycling around Mgahinga National Park

Cycling around Mgahinga National Park

After breakfast, prepare for a cycling adventure around Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Your guide will lead you on a moderate cycling route through the Ntebeko Valley and rural areas surrounding the park. The terrain is varied, with some uphill sections, dirt paths, and beautiful viewpoints overlooking the volcanoes and surrounding forests. Ride through local villages, where you can interact with the community and learn about their agricultural practices and daily life. Cycle past fields of crops like coffee, bananas, and maize, and observe the beauty of the park from a different perspective. There will be plenty of opportunities for photography, especially with the stunning backdrop of the Virunga volcanoes. Stop for lunch at a scenic spot. After lunch, Continue cycling through the park area, passing through farmlands, forests, and more remote corners of the park. After the cycling tour, return to your lodge in the evening.

Day 4

Visit to Gahinga Batwa Community

Visit to Gahinga Batwa Community

After breakfast, head for a community visit to the Gahinga Batwa community and learn about how these people used to live in the park, and how they used to survive. The Batwa are thought to be one of the oldest surviving indigenous people in the Central African Region. Known for their unique culture in the forests, the Batwa of the Virunga Mountains survived by hunting small game, gathering plants and fruits, living in caves and constructing huts of leaves and branches. After, return back to the lodge for your late lunch and relax as you prepare for your long journey back to Kampala.
