Your first day in Kenya will be a nice, easy one spent sightseeing in Nairobi, starting at the Giraffe Centre to meet and feed the Rothschild giraffes, part of a breeding programme for this now rare species. Next, you'll lunch at the historic Karen Blixen Coffee House, built in 1906. Afterwards, visit the Karen Blixen Museum on her former 4,500-acre farm, made famous by the 1985 film ‘Out of Africa’. Then, see local artisans at Kazuri Beads workshop. Finally, you’ll stay overnight the Wildebeest Eco Camp which has luxury tents, a swimming pool, games room, and souvenir shop in a scenic setting with abundant trees and birdlife.

Day 2-3
Head to the wilderness of Tsavo East
Head to the wilderness of Tsavo East
After breakfast, depart Nairobi for Tsavo East (6 hours), a plateau of open grassland dotted with giant baobab trees. It is the largest protected area in Kenya, covering over 13,500 sq km. You'll gain a true sense of wilderness in this expansive park, which is home to many of the larger mammals and over 500 recorded bird species! The park is one of Kenya’s most biodiverse regions, featuring bushy grasslands, open plains, semi-arid acacia scrub, woodlands, and riverine habitats. You’ll arrive in time for lunch at Satao Camp, renowned for its unique setting overlooking a watering hole that draws numerous animals for their daily drink and offers excellent opportunities to see large herds of elephants. After lunch, you’ll have some time to relax in your spacious en suite tent before setting out on an afternoon game drive. You will return to camp at sunset for a sundowner and dinner. The following day will be spent on game drives exploring this rich biodiversity stronghold!

Day 4

Game drives in the scenic Taita Hills
After breakfast, you’ll depart Tsavo East for the Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary, a very scenic area teeming with wildlife. There are over fifty species of large mammals and three hundred species of birds here, and it’s common to spot two dozen species during a morning game drive. You may see lions, cheetahs, large herds of elephants and buffalo, and many other fascinating species. You’ll arrive in time for lunch at Salt Lick Lodge, an unusual game-viewing lodge built on stilts overlooking a water source that attracts abundant wildlife, viewable from the comfort of the lodge, your room, or the excellent ground-level hide. Later, your guide will take you on a game drive through this very scenic park, which covers over 28,000 acres of protected area. At the end of the day, you’ll return to the lodge for dinner and an evening watching the wildlife at the watering hole.

Day 5-6

Explore the rolling hills of Tsavo West
After breakfast, you’ll continue your safari to Tsavo West, where you’ll be staying at the stunning Serena Kilaguni Safari Lodge, situated inside the park. It is a game-viewing lodge overlooking a watering hole that often attracts elephants and many other plains mammals. Each room is en-suite with a balcony, either overlooking the rolling hills or the watering hole. The lodge has a pool, small shop, restaurant, and bar, and there is also a spa if you fancy a massage after your game drives. You’ll arrive in time for lunch, then be taken on a late afternoon game drive and a visit to the Mzima Springs, where you may see hippos, Nile crocodiles, and many different bird species. You’ll return to Kilaguni for dinner and spend your evening relaxing and watching the wildlife arrive at the watering hole, overlooked by the lodge’s restaurant. The next day will be spent on morning and afternoon game drives exploring the park, with all meals at the lodge.

Day 7-8

Depart Tsavo for Amboseli, a remarkable park offering stunning views of Mt. Kilimanjaro and one of Africa’s best places to see large herds of elephants! Amboseli features diverse habitats, from savannahs and woodlands to swamps and wetlands, with the western side dominated by a lake that often dries up during the dry season. This rich environment makes Amboseli home to over 600 bird species, big cats, and many other mammals, including all the Big Five! You’ll arrive in time for lunch at Elerai Camp, set within a 5,000-acre private conservation area adjacent to the park. The camp consists of just 17 luxury tents and cottages, and offers a cosy lounge and bar area, restaurant, swimming pool, and views of a watering hole. You can enjoy bush walks and night game drives within the conservancy, and you’ll also venture into Amboseli park for early morning and late afternoon game drives.
