Drive to Selous & Sunset Boat Safari

Our professional driver will pick you up from the airport or any hotel in Dar es Salaam around 8:00 AM and take you to Selous Kinga Lodge. The distance is about 180 km, a 4-hour drive. You will arrive in time for lunch. Later, you’ll depart for a sunset boat safari along the great Rufiji River at 4:00 PM. The cruise normally lasts for 2 hours. Awesome views of hippos growling, crocodiles basking on the banks and the abundant birdlife will spice up your spectacular dawn. After the boat safari, you’ll be transferred back to the lodge for a beautiful and luscious dinner and an overnight stay on the banks of the Great Rufiji River.

Full-Day Game Drive & Departure to Dar es Salaam

After a full breakfast at around 6:30 AM, you will depart with a packed lunch and drinks, then drive into the vast Nyerere National Park (Selous Game Reserve) to explore its diverse wildlife and undisturbed nature for a full day. Countless elephants and buffaloes, prides of lions, giraffes, zebras and impalas are quite common. Selous is also quite famous for having many African wild dogs compared to any other national park in Tanzania. You will enjoy a bush lunch from a safe vantage point with beautiful scenery, and keep an eye out for wildlife in their natural habitat. You’ll then continue with the afternoon game drive. Later, at around 4:00 PM, you’ll begin your drive back to Dar es Salaam, and our driver will drop you off at the airport or at any hotel in Dar es Salaam.
