Nairobi - Masai Mara National Reserve

Jambo! Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or after pickup from your Nairobi hotel, you will be briefed by our representative and driven along the floor of the Rift Valley to the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve, arriving at your lodge in time for lunch. At 16h00, enjoy an afternoon game drive in the reserve. Return for dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Full-Day Game Drive at Masai Mara

Spend a full day in the reserve with both morning and afternoon game drives at 06h30 and 16h00 respectively. Alternatively, depart with lunch boxes for a full-day game drive and stand a good chance of witnessing the migration.

The Mara is the northern extension of the Serengeti, and its rolling plains are home to hundreds of plains game species and predators. Visit the Mara River to watch hippos, crocodiles and the great migration (July – October). Continue traversing the magnificent terrain and witness the never-ending interactions on the plains. Keep your eyes peeled as you hunt for the last members on your “must-see” list. All meals and overnight are at your lodge.

Mara - Lake Naivasha

After an early breakfast at the lodge, drive to Nairobi and down the spectacular Great Rift Valley. In the afternoon, arrive at Lake Naivasha, a freshwater lake, the highest of the string of lakes that glitter down the vast trench of the Great Rift Valley.

Set against the backdrop of the bulk of Mount Longonot (2,776 m) and featuring a submerged volcanic island known as Crescent Island, this beautiful lake is best known for its large numbers of waterbirds. In the afternoon, check into Naivasha Sopa Lodge, have lunch and relax by the pool. You can take an optional boat ride on the lake or explore the lake shore.

Lake Naivasha - Amboseli National Park

Today, you will drive to the famous Amboseli National Park and check in at Amboseli Sopa Lodge.

In the afternoon, take a game drive around this panoramic yet compact park, which is dotted with emerald green swamps in which great herds of elephant wallow half-submerged in the papyrus grasses. These permanent marshlands also serve as a potent draw for hippos and buffaloes, while offering a haven for abundant waterbirds. In the evening, enjoy sundowners in one of the lodge's two bars, explore the wildlife library, or take a swim in the pool. After dinner in the atmospheric central dining room, enjoy a traditional Maasai dance display or a wildlife talk (optional).

Full Day in Amboseli

Spend the entire day game-driving in the park, which is an international biosphere reserve featuring the dried-out lakebed of prehistoric Lake Amboseli, rolling savannah and lush green swamps. The plains offer numerous antelopes, spotted hyenas, jackals, warthogs, olive baboons and vervet monkeys, as well as the chance to spot a lion, leopard or cheetah.

Observation Hill, a conical peak which is easily climbed, offers stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Lunch and dinner will be taken at the lodge, whose grounds also offer the opportunity of an optional nature walk with bird-spotting (150 species in the grounds alone). Breakfast, lunch and dinner are at the lodge.
