The Journey Inland Driving from Mombasa Coast to Kilimanjaro Foothills Amboseli

We will pick you up from your hotel or the airport in the morning, then depart Mombasa for Amboseli National Park. The scenic drive takes us through changing landscapes, and we expect to arrive after lunchtime. Upon arrival, you’ll check into your accommodation and enjoy a relaxing lunch.

In the afternoon, we’ll set out on an exciting game drive through the park. Amboseli is renowned for its majestic herds of elephants and breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro—offering perfect photo opportunities against the African sky. It’s a wonderful start to your safari adventure.

The Ultimate Safari Experience Full-Day Game Drive in Amboseli

Your second day in Amboseli begins early with a 6:00 AM game drive, when the cool morning air brings the park to life. This is the perfect time to spot predators like lions or hyenas returning from a night hunt, while the rising sun paints stunning landscapes behind Mount Kilimanjaro. Watch for elephants, zebras, and giraffes before breaking for breakfast.

By 10:00 AM, you'll head back into the park to explore different territories. Though many animals rest during the midday heat, your skilled guide will track wildlife and share insights into their behavior. You'll break for lunch between 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM at your lodge or a scenic picnic spot.

The afternoon game drive from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM offers excellent birdwatching opportunities as birds become active in the softer light. It's a wonderful time for photography before returning to camp as the day winds down..

One Last Glimpse Morning Game Drive & Departure to Mombasa

Enjoy a final morning game drive in Amboseli National Park—your last chance to spot incredible wildlife, including elephants, lions, and perhaps even a glimpse of Mount Kilimanjaro if the weather is clear.

After the drive, return to your lodge for breakfast, taking time to reflect on your safari experiences as you savor your meal.

Check out of your accommodation, gather your belongings, and bid farewell to the friendly staff.

Depart Amboseli and begin the scenic drive back to Mombasa. The journey takes approximately 5–6 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions. Along the way, enjoy the beautiful and changing landscapes of Kenya.

Arrive in Mombasa in the late afternoon or early evening, where you'll be dropped off at your hotel or at the airport.
