Hotel Pickup + Road Transfer to Nyerere National Park – Sunset Boat Safari

Your safari begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel or agreed location in Dar es Salaam.

Meet your driver and travel south by road toward Nyerere National Park, passing through rural communities and scenic countryside along the way. Upon arrival in the Nyerere area, check in at your safari camp or lodge and enjoy some time to relax and have lunch.

Later in the afternoon, head to the Rufiji River for a sunset boat safari. Cruise along the river and its channels while looking out for hippos, crocodiles, waterbirds, and other wildlife that may be seen along the riverbanks. As the sun begins to set, enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and beautiful colours over the Rufiji River before returning to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Full-Day Game Drive in Nyerere National Park

After an early breakfast, depart with your safari guide for a full-day game drive in Nyerere National Park. Spend the day exploring the park's varied landscapes, including open grasslands, miombo woodland, lakes, and riverine habitats.

Your guide will search for wildlife such as elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, lions, hippos, antelopes, and, with some luck, African wild dogs. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed at a suitable location inside the park, allowing you to make the most of your time in the wilderness.

Continue your game drive during the afternoon before returning to your camp or lodge for dinner and overnight.

Another Full-Day Game Drive in Nyerere National Park

After breakfast, set out for another full-day game drive in Nyerere National Park. The second full day gives you more time to explore different areas of this vast wilderness and increases your chances of seeing a wider range of wildlife.

Your guide will select the best routes based on recent wildlife movements, local conditions, and areas you didn't explore the previous day. Enjoy another picnic lunch in the park before continuing your afternoon game drive.

Later, return to your accommodation for your final evening in the Nyerere wilderness.

Early Morning Bush Walk + Transfer to Dar es Salaam + Airport Drop-off

Begin your final safari day with an early morning guided bush walk. Accompanied by an experienced guide, explore the African bush on foot and learn about animal tracks, plants, insects, birds, and other smaller details of the ecosystem that are often missed while travelling by safari vehicle.

After the walk, return to your accommodation for breakfast before checking out and beginning the road journey back to Dar es Salaam. On arrival, you will be transferred to Dar es Salaam Airport or another agreed drop-off point, marking the end of your Nyerere safari.
