Dar es Salaam - Kigoma - Mahale Mountain Park

We assumed you'll arrive early morning in Dar es Salaam. After clearing customs and passport control at the International Airport, you will walk out of the airport to meet our driver, who will be holding a page board with your name printed. You will be assisted to the vehicle for road transfer to the domestic airport for connection to Kigoma.

You will meet and drive at Kigoma Airport for a day brief, before heading to Mahale Mountain Park by road via local villages Ilagala, Sigunga, Logosa, to Mgambo through, rough and dusty road. You'll meet and be assisted by another team from the park boat transfer to headquarters (about a 1-hour ride) to Mahale, and have an evening walk.

No rush, you'll have an early breakfast. Then, you will be guided for a full day or half-day chimpanzee trekking and climbing in the forest with a ranger. You'll enjoy bird-watching, sunset boat cruise along the lake searching for crocodiles, beach activities, an option for fishing and kayaking, and a natural walk to explore the beauty of Lake Tanganyika in an idealistic way.

Mahale to Kigoma

Upon arrival in Kigoma, you will be transferred to the lodge for check-in and leisure from the top view, or guided for an evening walk in town for local life experiences.
